I want to add the possibility of mushroom trip. A try to explain yourself. looking at yourself from a blank space. Forgotten all that was known before. questions like how do I exist? who was myself before I ended up here? maybe talking to yourself or to a sober person "I knew someone else before Looked alot like you" you know there was something in the past but you just cant remember any facts so you give your existence own facts and reasons how to "work". you program yourself totally new in this moment. forgetting. accepting. rebuilding. understanding. its hard not to loose control on this side of "the sidewalk" because everything seems so senseless and unexplainable in the first view. And you seem to be all alone because you forgot yourself and all the other humans you knew. "And they're gone I'm gone In space" but if you get some clear thoughts, they seem like software for your brain and you realize everything is so simple and clear if you just open your eyes and accept to forget what you were before. "words are weightless here on earth because they're free" words no longer have expression because they just cant describe what you created and realized now. You probably silence. thats why its hard to remember when your back to sober. Its all about the feelings a human can have.. on the other side. peace |

yep I think about drugs, too. more precisely a lot of drugs and time. I cross the city backwards There's a lot of soul to find A million ways to loose control ths first part seems to be about a drug that makes you loose control in any next possible moment and gives you the connection to other "souls" so I think he's talking about xtc or pot. I find a safer haven And get myself a line Feel the urge to climb the walls For this part I disagree that its about cocaine. I think it describes the use of Amphetamin. A safer haven is a near place where nobody is in reach and he can get a line. The urge he now is feeling, are the effects of amphetamin, that let him feel much energy. Turn on, tune in, shut down this line reminds me of the modern LSD pioneer "Timothy Leary" because he popularized the catch phrase "Turn on, tune in, drop out." It's a way to pass the time Check out of my braincell again Speaks for itself.. it seems to warn us. The drugs can help a long time, but also waste a long time of life. Searching for something in your "braincell" that perhaps isnt real? peace |

Avon seems to have a completly different meaning. this one isnt just a good song to take drugs to like all desert songs. its a good song to get drunk to, too. "Can't stop that broken faucet Now and again, spill to the floor I'm up to my neck, I'm swimming in you" He wants to get drunk and already had enough alc so his feeling is at his top and he wants to use it before he "cant sing my blues". "Can I drink my booze? I have paid my dues You can hide like fools, oh yeah" just pay the price for the legal drug and hide your problems like every fool can. "Feels so good to have it" The person dont care about the consequences anymore and just wants to enjoy the nice drug effect. peace |

I tried to think about the lyrics once more and I expect they need much personal comparing. Realy interpretable and I would recommend you to give it a try (; “When she said the bones on - high When she said the dog gone - high Blast thru the front door - high Blast thru the back door - you're all mine – oh” In the beginning of the song he talks about the moments when he had fun with a girl he didn’t know too much yet. They take drugs together and he likes to be high with her. His dreams kinda came true through this. “you're all mine” he starts to like her realy much and wants to control her. Perhaps through drugs that only he can give her. ”Only if you & in your head Something is wrong babe, Just come to me said I ma the only one for you” In his head he kinda gets obsessed by her. He is wishing she would see the same things but something seems wrong for him. He tries to tell her his feelings and wants to be the only one for her. Perhaps the teller thinks that the girl don’t notice his devotion. “When you move your hips babe, so fine When you move your head babe, looking all right When you shake your ass babe, You're looking so fine” He remembers some nights with her. The moments when he forgot everything else and just her view existed in his mind. She looks so perfect in every way no matter what she is doing. Her cuteness never changes, even when she told him that she loves another dude who don’t pay attention to her very much. “And when you said your heart breaks You better shake it down” The teller knows whats reality and can think of all the things she is doing with him but in his mind he cant accept that fact and wants to numb it all with drugs and ignore this fears when he is by her side. “I am your only just because lonely I am the one because you're true I am your only, something is lonely Something is wrong because you're true You are my only, something is gone now only because & if you're true” In some moments he reminds he had the feeling to be totally alone with her. Drowning in the misery of their lifes. He tells her to believe “because you're true “ whats dark in her past and gives her the sympathy she wants. But he knows there is something wrong and she is telling lies to him in those moments. But he accept it because he needs the sympathy too. So he still feels lonely at all. He don’t want to think of this and tries to forget this part till its gone “something is gone now only because if you're true”. “You got me right, you got me right, Yea, you got me” Clearly what happened. He is cought in his own plan. This obsession seems to be deadly at this point cause there is nobody else than this girl, who can fill his self created hole. He cant stand this situation and kinda gets insane. John Garcia realy gives all of his voice in the end of the song. His unique voice is showing the hole pain in this failure. “And what the fuck?” True Stoner Rock here =P |

I agree with the drug opinion seems like its about the inspiration you get from the drugs in the high. but its perishable and the feeling when you notice that you didnt realize what happended clearly enough, can drive you insane.. before I wrote this comment I tried to express my hole personal feelings through a songtext of unida. it need much interpretation cause John Garcia realy got trippy thoughts. I warote like an hour and had a good feeling when I finished the text. The pot was gone now and I finaly wanted to post it but the website got an error during this and all me thoughts were gone. I couldnt believe it cause I just forgot to save the text, perhaps just because of my numbed feeling! That story reminds me of this song because first I got kinda nice experience through the drug but then it took all away again when I lost it uncarfully. But now I'm gonna smoke all again and give it a better try! Dont let it take away, try to get it back again. "Loyal to Only you Up your sleeve" |

Its just ironic if you listen to this song stoned. you seem to hear the real situation of your life caused by something that you use to trick your mind always again to the same "perfect" state of peace in a single moment of your life. But when your getting down you realize the "mistake, done with ease". "Just to move, not to please" Just to stay alive through the endless days but never get enough drugs to keep the good feelings of an high in comparison with the idiot mistakes that happen in your real life. the first part perhaps has a connection to the mass stupid folks abusing alcohol but getting accepted in the society "Never say I'm a drunk. When they say, "You're alright" Persons that know other drugs well, cant accpet the senseless boring abuse of alcohol anymore and prefer a drug like hash but cant get accepted. Trying to find a save place alone with the drug. "Is that all? realy nice song got a very psychedelic and progressiv guitar solo till the outro :D takes you away from everything in your reality when your kinda high. "Confront the daily setbacks All the lows and highs With anesthetic means I'm Fit to socialize" those first lines perhaps tell us, the guy took some drugs to escape from his problematic life. he driving stoned to nowhere just away from it. the drug helps him to keep some social contacts alive too. reminds me of the scene in the intro of the methamphetamin movie "spun" where the mainperson took some nice lines then driving home, hearing an iron maiden cover :D "Bombing hometowns I can Watch it free from harm United Arab Emirates Still keep the gas in my car" the person sees the daily tv and the brutality in other countrys but never saw something like that in his life. he's driving with the gas thats helping to keep the war in other countries alive. dudes keep hearing stoner rock ('_')y |
