This is probably my favourite song right now, it's so beautiful. I think it's about having your heart broken and being hurt really badly by someone. You still love them very much, and want to be with them, but you know you have to leave them behind and move on, because of what they did. It's about having to protect yourself from that person and from heartbreak. |

Brian wrote this towards the end of his marriage to Kerry, and after hearing Delta on the radio asked her to sing it with him as a duet. She was also having troubles in her relationship at the time and could relate to the lyrics. So it seems to be about a relationship that Brian (in the song) had somewhat taken for granted, and now realising how unhappy his partner is (about him being emotionally unavailable perhaps?), he'd do anything for her to stay with him. |

This is probably my all time favourite song. As aussiegirl87 said, Delta wrote it during her battle with cancer, most likely for Mark who she was dating at the time :S Still, it's such a beautiful song. I think it's very much about love, and being vulnerable and afraid (of dying, being separated from the one you love, etc) and just saying everything you feel before it's too late. The album version has a lot more of a happy feel to it than the live ballad version though... |
