| The Chemical Brothers – Where Do I Begin Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Only discovered this song about 2 weeks ago whilst watching a documentary about Glastonbury. It was used during an 'early Monday morning' montage, and fitted perfectly with the misty, deserted scenes. Such a great chillout song, perfectly suited for a hangover/morning after theme. | |
| Country Joe McDonald – I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The studio version doesn't actually spell out F-U-C-K, at the beginning, rather F-I-S-H, the name of Joe's band. The F-U-C-K part is from Woodstock. |

| Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová – Say It to Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is brilliant. I watched Once a few weeks ago for the first time & the scene with this song in just blew me away completely. The energy & the passion he puts in it, & the fact that there's nobody even there to listen to him! Amazing. Shivers down the spine. I've not stopped listening to the song since. Isn't it brilliant that (in my opinion anyway...) one man & his one beaten up guitar can pour more emotion into a song than any recording studio could ever do. For me this is what music should be. Epic. |

| Travis – Sailing Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
a beautiful song. i can't believe the boys only made it a bonus track on 'The Boy with No Name'. the album wasn't fantastic in my opinion, mainly due to some poor songs toward the end. anyway, this song reminds me of my favourite place on earth... my uncle lives, or lived, should i say, in this little place that he built for himself, like a chalet, down a dirt track, in the middle of a load of fields, and right next to the river trent. i won't go into detail, but it looks like sometime in the coming months i am gonna move in their myself, as i'm heading to uni and my campus is 5 minutes from the place. it's complicated, and very frustrating, because i can't move their now and begin fixing the place up (it's been broken into once or twice, and needs lots of work doing, but nothing that i won't overcome, no matter how long it takes me). anyway, long story short, i have dreams of being sat on my porch looking out to the river, with the lines "cause i live by the river, live by the river and i'll die by the river" in my head. one day... |

| The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Basically, two of the deepest, most amazing moments of my life are as follows... 1) 2nd July 2005 - I am lucky enough to get a ticket for Live 8. The highlight of the day comes when, as well as seeing my favourite band, U2, Chris Martin introduces Richard Ashcroft to the stage to sing "probably the greatest song of all time" with Coldplay. 2) 29th June 2008 - Glastonbury. The Verve, back in the world, are headlining the final night. Ashcroft goes on a rant, "it's a struggle, life's a struggle, and Monday morning may be a struggle for a lot of you, working a job you despise, working for a boss you despise. A slave to money then we die". And then the strings hit, and everyone knows what's coming. The crowd ERUPTS. I will never forget it, I couldn't hear the band over the crowd singing along. This song will live forever. An anthem of life itself. THIS IS MUSIC. |

| Damien Rice – The Blower's Daughter Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song was the first song to get me into Damien Rice. and i still love it to this day. it FLOORS me everytime, and i can't help but sit back, stop whatever i'm doing and contemplate as i'm listening. only an amazing song has an effect like that. i'm going to see him live in 19 days, and if there's one song that's going to bring tears to my eyes, it's this. |

| Damien Rice – Coconut Skins Lyrics | 18 years ago |
amazing song from Damien here. such a passionate song, a true buskers song I like to think. ...but then again like a busker could ever write lyrics like this guy. ha! this song means so much to me and a close friend. 'Coconut Skins' has become more than a song, it's like, a metaphor for our friendship these days. |

what is 'the troops are on fire' all about? I mean other than obviously about? |
| King Creosote – Locked Together Lyrics | 18 years ago |
brilliant song. i discovered it after it was used on Sky One's "Dream Team". loving the random mention of the old supermarket 'Safeway'. |
| Travis – Slide Show Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is really cool. they performed it live last weekend when i saw them. i really like the way they mention other artists songs (Oasis, Beck and the Manics). ironically, this is the second time on the "The Man Who" you will hear a reference to "Wonderwall". in the song "Writing to Reach You", as well as using practically the same riff, the lyrics also state "..and what's a 'wonderwall' anyway?". |
| Travis – Selfish Jean Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is really cool for me, as we have studied Dawkins' book in Religious Studies. It basically states that life is all about DNA, and all that we should be concerned about in life is the evolution of genes. Dawkins was a materialist. cool song. Travis opened their gig with this last weekend when I saw them. |
| Beck – Loser Lyrics | 18 years ago |
surely the most random song ever? Beck wrote it as a joke and didn't intent for it to be so successful. however it is one of my favourite songs. :] |
| The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| easily the best drunken anthem ever the grace the earth. | |
| Damien Rice – Eskimo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I have a solo Damien version of this song that is just as beautiful. He takes a different approach the opera part that comes out so melodic. | |
| U2 – Sweetest Thing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is brilliant. one of my favourite love songs ever. and also one of the greatest video's ever! the line "blue eyed boy meets a brown eyed girl" gets me every time. |
| Joe Purdy – Wash Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
used brilliantly in LOST. who cares what it is about... this is one of the most beautiful songs ever. |
| Willie Nelson – Are You Sure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
one of the most haunting songs I have ever heard. brilliantly used in Season One of LOST - "House of the Rising Sun". so simple and yet, so powerful. |
| Joe Purdy – Woman Go Lyrics | 18 years ago |
anyone else see the irony when he say's to her... "you're gonna be the death of me" ...earlier in the song. |
