This is one of the best songs i've ever heard. It's obviously about the loneliness that a performer feels when they are no longer onstage. When performing - you have a feeling that everybody loves you and wants to know you but as soon as the lights go down and the curtains close, you realise that you are in fact extremely lonely. As a stand-up comedian, I often play this track on my way home from gigs to tell myself that other people feel exactly the same as me. BTW i hear That's when it Bites just a little, Bites just a little more. which is referring to the loneliness biting into you. |

I have always been a big oasis fan but i always quote this song when having the discussion of 'Worst song lyrics ever'. this is absolute toss "Have you ever played with plastercine Or even tried a trampoline" Digsy's Dinner had bad lyrics but at least it was upbeat and Liams enthusiasm made it sound good. - however Liam more than made up for it with Songbird. |

This song made me buy a guitar. Whenever I gig, and people ask what got me into Guitar music - they look at me strange when i say the spanish guitar in the middle of Rendez-Vous by Basement Jaxx! Brilliant song - however i feel 'When the Lights Go Down' is their strongest song by far. It's on the Crazy Itch Radio album. |
