Justice – DVNO Lyrics 17 years ago
When they say you have to wear a white shirt to get into clubs named El Divino, they do mean theres a dress code but theres more to it. El Divino is spanish for The Divine [One], which i take to mean Jesus/God, who wore white, which is the color of purity/divinity.

I think theyre just commenting on the whole club scene, how pretentious is can get, ergo the line "Don't need to ask my name/To figure out how cool I am.../I just came here to dance" and the mentions of membership. lists, and ugly boys and girls.

thats what i thought, they do sound very similar. but theyre not. i read an article on the Used in AP magazine and they said they just recorded some sounds.. pretty much what i posted before and recorded them into a loop and thought it sounded cool.. so its just random i guess. also, that [whole topic of drugs/Requiem For A Dream] would have nothing to do with the song..

Say Anything – Skinny, Mean Man (feat. Pete Yorn) Lyrics 18 years ago
if you listen carefully there is a match lit as he begins to say "gasoline will make it go faster" the first time, implying he burns something, and doesnt actually drink it.

i am parker lewis: stop being such an elitist bitch.

Anyway, I believe this song is about the character max (remember this is supposed to be a concept album) watching someone elses [mentally] abusive relationship. The relationship seems to be between a young woman who crookedly admires a much older "middle-aged" man. The man takes advantage of the girl as Max watches obsessively, wishing he could do something, knowing its wrong.
This is where my interpretation goes a little crazy, but its what I believe.
I think that Max kills her, thinking it the only way to get close to her, blaming it on the man. "I have in faith in you, child. From HIS nightmares I’ve plucked a plan. Where that prick to the world is revealed as a wicked man."
He then lives out whatever fantasies he had with the dead girl. Not to be sick, but thats how I see it> "If only you could see me, we’d dance like a heart attack""If only you’d start breathing, I’d court you exclusively. With my shovel I’m pounding earth ‘til suddenly I see You awake from the dirt and the grime ...filled with fire and finally mine"
As for the ending with the gasoline, either he drinks it and dies to be with her, or burns the scene of his crimes.
I think the whole thing is just supposed to portray the really twisted and obsessive feelings Max or someone from another perspective had. And does anyone else feel that this whole thing is extremely similar to the book Lovely Bones?

The Used – Find a Way Lyrics 18 years ago
okay so maybe i put some time into this, but i really want to know how the sounds at the beginning are relevant. these are what i think they are...
:a slap
:a match
:some sort of gurgle?
:film
:hitting a fence
:opening a soda
:tape
:cash register
:gasp, someone getting hurt
Then it repeats.. if this is a love song, what the hell do these things have to do with anything?

This song is pretty awesome. Do the sounds in the background remind anyone else of requiem for a dream? what is all that background noise anyway?
