Ready for the Floor Lyrics

Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it now

Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now
Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it now

Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
I am ready, I am ready for a fall

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
We are ready, we are ready for the floor

I can't hear your voice, do I have a choice?
I'm hoping perchance, you might take this dance
I can't hear your voice, do I have a choice?
(You're sinking below, I'm using my force)
I'm hoping perchance, you might take this dance
You're my number one guy

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
I am ready, I am ready for a fall

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
We are ready, we are ready for the floor

I can't hear your voice, do I have a choice?
(You're sinking below, I'm using my force)
I'm hoping perchance, you might take this dance
You're my number one guy
number one guy
number, number, number, number, number,
one, one, one, one, one guy

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
I am ready, I am ready for a fall

Instead of carving up the wall
Why don't you open up, we talk
We are ready, we are ready for the floor

(You're my number one guy, number one)Instead of carving up the wall
(number, number, one, one)
Why don't you open up, we talk
(number, number, one, one) We are ready for the floor

The "number one guy" line is the singer talking to his other side, the one without inhibitions, the one that's willing to just let go and is "ready for the floor".

I would say that the whole song is about the singer having the guts to ask a girl out.

"Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it now Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it, say it now" <-- Just ask her out.

"Why don't you open up, we talk I am ready, I am ready for a fall" <-- So what if you reject me? At least I had the guts to ask

"You're my number one guy" is a line the Joker says to his henchman in first Tim Burton BATMAN movie. (It also makes sense because in the music video, the singer is dressed as the Joker.) I feel like that's what the writer was referring to, but people have taken it as a homosexual remark.

I believe the song is about someone who loves another person and wants to show their feelings but is worrying, and expecting, that they will be rejected. This situation is very true to me.

So they aren't the best lyrics ever, but who cares, it sounds pretty awesome.

Am i crazy or do they go like this? "Instead of carving up the wall Why don't you open up, we talk"

its really simple, the lines "you're my number one guy" is a symbol of betrayal as seen from Tim Burton's Batman. What the song is saying is that when you have someone at your door who wants to get back into your life there are a couple things that can happen if you do decide to let them in. (a) they are either coming to you honestly and you can fall inlove with them again ..or (b) they can be trying to trick you and you will fall for their ruse... Regardless you will end up falling n someway so by opening the door you should be ready for the floor
