| Drive-By Truckers – 72 (This Highway's Mean) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I completely agree. This song is one of my favorites. As much as he thinks he hates that god-forsaken hometown highway, it's the one that will set him free. I love the imagery of that same road wrapped around him, like a freaking blanket. I think we've all been there before. YIKES, what great lyrics. | |
| Drive-By Truckers – Women Without Whiskey Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Greatest opening line ever in a song!!! This guy's got a heck of a choice to make. His girl or his liquor. And he chooses liquor. Love this line: When I'm six feet underground, I'll need a drink or two And I'll sure miss you This is an alcoholic's anthem. |

| Drive-By Truckers – Loaded Gun in the Closet Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Everytime I hear this song, I come to a different conclusion as to who the gun is meant for...and whether it was ever used. Does she shoot him? Does she shoot herself? Or 30 years from now, will that same gun, with the same bullets, still be in the same spot in the closet. I hope we never find out. It's what makes the song what it is. I love this line, though: She didn’t get out much, so she never knew just what it was that made him so afraid. |

| Drive-By Truckers – Space City Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about the writer's grandfather dealing with the death of his wife. Space City is what they call the NASA space center in Huntsville, AL...near where the songwriter grew up. I think I cried the first time I heard it. I can see my grandparents in this song and how lost my granddad was after my grandmother died. Beautiful song. | |
