Need to correct myself. I believe that it's "I've learned fast on sinking ships". |

Thanks, bro! I try. All of these interpretations are great and subjective to individual experience. Oceansize definitely has an intelligent fan base (with great taste in music too!) We're all gonna' have a great time picking Frames apart. See you then! |

I'll spare you all with my interpretation since these lyrics aren't confirmed. I do have to say that this song is my favorite so far. It's big, beautiful and epic - somwhere along the lines of Ornament / The Last Wrongs. I'm so gonna' get busted for even knowing what this sounds like already. I promise to buy at least 2 copies of this album. It's worth it. Once they have it mastered we will have THE album of 2007. I am blown away by Oceansizes' talent. These guys don't know how to do anything besides deliver. |

It's interesting how Peart tries hard to stay objective........even when it comes to death. I applaud the bravery it takes to do this. |

The above comment is the only one that approaches rationality, intelligence, and a general understanding of the english language. As for everyone else.......this album is NOT your personal soundtrack for firing up those crack rocks that you so greatly love. Put the pipe down and go back to school. |

"What junkie says is not what junkie do,
But it's all for you
And the tricks he turns will always shine right through,
But it's all for you."
Another drugs / religion metaphor and all the while, we aren't focused on the real deal: the people that love us. |

I think it's "So don't think on your feet, 'cause you sink from your feet up.
Are you FLOATING (as opposed to sinking) with me?"
Also, sometimes when I'm listening to this one I hear "They say it's all a game then throw us in the fire. They say we're all the same.
Well, yeah, but we're not liars".
I think that I'm wrong, though.
I sometimes think that the wrong lyrics were printed on the liner notes just to illustrate the point that we need to think for ourselves. Probably not. That's the wonderful thing about music. We can force it to mirror our lives, beliefs, etc. until it fits.
But, yeah. This one is definitely about blind faith. No argument there. |

Once again, a song about the cycle of abuse that is passed down from family members (in some cases) and needs to be broken. What does the "cherry" symbolize, though? Maybe someone is making their kid eat the cherry of a cigar as punishment for not getting dressed fast enough? Kidding (even though that's not funny). Maybe it's some UK slang. |

One Day All This Could Be Yours = inheriting or choosing to not inherit the cycle of abuse and neglect that is sometimes passed down from one family member to another. Of course, this has already been stated above. You guys rule. Thanks for being Oceansize fans! =) |

By the way, all of the songs on this album place drugs and religion synonymously with each other. Just two ways that that we Ornament (or decorate, kill / waste time) our lives and keep ourselves "asleep" and in "position". The whole album is a challenge for us to break tradition and wake the hell up. We can do something with our lives besides doing drugs and watching television (both of which are the equivalent of believing in a God that never answers us) and wasting time in general.......if we choose to. Those who read this may say "I don't do either of those things" but the truth is, we all waste our lives in some form or fashion. Even people like Einstein (just as an example), who many would say did something great, spent countless hours in front of his equations and theories. This album, from what I gather, is telling us that loving someone else (Music for Nurses) is never a waste of time. |

A junkie will often hate the drug that they are addicted to when they can't get any and treat it like God when they have some. They feel the same about their dealers. They hate them when the dealer can't help them with a free fix and love them when they deliver. This interpretation doesn't feel exactly right to me but maybe it's a start. Funny how this is right before You Can't Keep a Bad Man Down. See my interpretation of that. |

Definitely about a religious experience rivaling that of a drug binge. Both are equally bad, in my opinion. Both will numb your mind and keep you from thinking for yourself. Go chase down your preacher / dealer and get more of what you need (see You Can't Keep a Bad Man Down). This is definitely a concept album. The small fact that the words "clogging" and "stall" are in a few of the songs make it so. The album as a whole, for me, is about how everyone is sedated and numb in different ways while life is happening around us for the few who aren't. Then we die. But we stay in "position" and "asleep" (see Ornament / The Last Wrongs). I've learned alot from this album but I still can't seem to get my lazy butt up from this computer. |

Someone was too busy getting high while another that they were supposed to show love and be there for died. When they finally sober up, it's too late and they are hoping to see that person again.
As for relating to songs, I always tend to think of death and drugs first. No idea why. Seriously. I'm not dead and drugs are bad, m'kay? |

I'm thinkin' that this one has to do with what Mike Vennart says about shallow, smacked-up, no talent bands in the UK. They have the looks, the have the bad habits, they get all of the press. They have no talent compared to Oceansize. Very shameful indeed. |

Even though these lyrics are depressing and leave me feelin' kind of hopeless, this song is epic and beautiful in every way. The live version that I've been watching on YouTube made me cry like a baby the first few times that I watched it. Jeez. It kind of sucks to realize that we're all just meat scratching for the same material goals.......only to suffer the same pitiful fate...death. No wonder peeps believe in God. What else have we got to keep us sane? That makes it extra tough to not have any beliefs or faith. This song is definitely a wake-up call, whether you think it's positive or negative. Maybe I would rather "stay asleep" 'cause ignorance is bliss. We're all gonna' rot with nothing to show for it. |

These lyrics are 100% correct but before I knew what he was saying I always used to sing "I'm sick and I'm still wandering around, aimlessly". It always made me think of a junkie being dope-sick and not being able to find his next fix because the pigs have cleared all of the dealers off of the streets. The first part of the song was always from the cops point of view for me, the second half being from the junkies POV (no, I'm not on drugs). When he's talking of "missing the war", maybe he's sobering up because he hasn't been able to score for a while. Also, "That drop in all the ocean" sounds like Vennart is hinting at this equation: Drop = contents of a syringe / Ocean = bloodstream. The "prayer for all the world" of course being a junkies way of escaping a world that he wishes were better. I'm probably wrong about all of this, though.... |

Have to correct myself. The devil has been out all day creating corpses and putting germs on public telephones. He's satisfied with the work that he's done and so he dreams about it later on? Maybe "the devil" is just a metaphor for a really bad man. Plenty of those in NOLA. It definitely is a twisted city. One last thing. There's a big contrast between a ladybug on bones and ants on bones. The ladybug would definitely seem out of place there. They don't feed on corpses, do they? Maybe it IS just about an acid trip....... |

Forgot to say what I think this song is about. I have no clue but my girl seems to think that "The devil is just out of frame" means that something bad is always around the corner waiting to mess you up. May not be true but she has a good point. |

Probably, yeah. Sometimes I get the feeling that the majority of Daxs' songs are about plain old madness and paranoia. I'm sure that a loony would have a phobia of public telephone germs. The devil does too in this case. =) |

"It's SUCH a cold dimension", not "suck a cold dimension". Sorry to be a jerk but I've seen this on the net and it irritates me. Also, what's the (soul, blood) in parentheses? I need to go look at my liner notes. Sometimes there are typos in there too. Anyway...... |
