This is about a relationship that is doomed from the start. But he took the chance to go into that relationship, cause there maybe was a minor chance that is WOULD work out. He took his chance and would worry about the consequences later. (it's better to regret something you've done, than regret something you didn't. ) He realizes now that he never had a chance to make this relationship working. So now it's time to let go, because they want different things out of this relationship. Obviously that's not working. Well, it hurts like hell, but he's trying to be strong and says he's better of without her in the long run. What can I say... story of my life at the moment.... |

Everybody knows how it is to really want to be with someone, to hold her and to look her in the eye. but all you get are those phone calls. But they won't do. I guess the song is about a relationship that isn't over yet, but the girl just needs some time to think about what she wants. break up? go on? They still call eachother on the phone andwish eachother a good night. But he's just waiting for that one call that says 'I want to go on with you' or the other option 'it's over'. He just wishes he could hold her and look her in the eye and say that he really want's her to be with him. Anyway, simple song, but so good! |

'cause there's fire all around' Maybe there are many things that he's not happy with in the relationship. Lot of 'fires'. I agree with annaS about the chorus part. He can't feel (or doesn't allow himself to feel) emotional highs and lows anymore, because of the things that he did and things that happened in the past. He is asking someone (girl maybe) to show him what it's like to feel again. That his life is not only grey anymore, but full of colours (feelings.) 'Paint me the colors of sky and rain' The sky as a beautifull blue (happiness) but also the colour of the rain (sadness). In other words, just to feel again. No high without a low. Long story short: it's about bringing feelings back and just to feel alive again. Good song, catchy too. |

It's a song about life and how you stand in life. All the 'rules' of todays life mean nothing. Once you got that pinned that in your mind, you are truly freeto do anything and make your own rules, live your own life, do what your heart tells you to do (set your clock by your heart). I think we all are, in a way, like that. Somewhere deep inside is just a person who rejects all of this world and want to do what the heart tells you to do. But it can mean anything YOU think it means. That's the beauty of it. Nice song. |
