| Great Big Sea – Donkey Riding Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| As it were, a donkey in this song is referring to an old donkey steam engine used largely in logging. It was sung by workers who used the machine. It's a traditional song sung a ways back, its an adaption of an old scottish one called "Highland Laddie". | |
| The Fall of Troy – Oh! The Casino!? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Could be about a million different things. Though it sounds painfully like me and my recent ex. But songs are all about personal interpretation, right? |
| Newton Faulkner – Dream Catch Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is just as legit an interpretation as any other. Nobody's blatantly right or wrong here. |
| Newton Faulkner – Dream Catch Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
That's a nice way of interpreting it differently, I like that. After all, songs are meant to be interpreted personally. So while they may have one obvious meaning, they will all be something different to each individual. |

| Parkway Drive – Romance Is Dead Lyrics | 16 years ago |
There's a lot of people who say it's about a girl cutting herself over the guy. Truth is, it's actually non-specific to gender. There's an interview with the band wherein they explain the meaning of the song. "songs about heartache are all well and good, but taking advantage of teenage insecurities with songs regarding self harm is shit. it doesn't help anything. the rate of youth suicide in Australia is one of the largest in the world. think about it." So there you go. |

| Bullet for My Valentine – Hearts Burst Into Fire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'd have to agree with Jonorbz409 When I first heard the song, I thought "Oh, another breakup". But when you really give it some time, it sounds quite a lot like it's about missing the family and the loved ones when you're gone away on tour. And it shows how that can be difficult for both parties. Though it's cliche, it's so true: Distance makes the heart grow stronger. |

| Bob Dylan – Most of the Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I first heard this done by a friend of mine who is a phenomenal guitarist and singer. Amazing cover, and it really hit home for me. So I checked out the lyrics, and it gave even more meaning. Love this song. And I can say, with confidence, that many of us have been there. This is soothing to listen to sometimes for me. |

| Once Nothing – The Dust of a Town Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the lyrics would more accurately be: Oh yeah! My mama said to me, "Darling, you've got your daddy's temper. So you better watch your mouth cause it'll lead you to the fire." I! I! I! I! I! I! I! I! I! I! I! I!... ...never did learn how to listen and I can't hold my tongue. Now all the smoke is clearing from the shots ringing out. All the smoke is clearing from the shots ringing out And the water from the rivers will flood into the ocean Like my heart pumps the blood to the tips of my fingers. To the tip of my finger Here's to the night... to my coma and my brand new set of eyes. A corpse for a bride Is dead In my hospital bed. I don't need to write it down. I don't need to spell it out. Thank God these walls can't talk 'Cause they could go on for days. You don't know where I've been. (I! I! I!) You don't know what I've seen! (I! I! I!) You don't know where I've been. (I! I! I!) You don't know what I've seen! (I! I! I!) |

| Dream Theater – Anna Lee Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Truly a beautiful song musically. Incredibly moving. Sad, yet at the same time lovely lyrics. Anna Lee has gone through a very difficult emotional, and maybe even physically scarring event. Likely having been abused, as has been said. I love this song. You can't help but love its beauty. Even the sad lyrics have their own loveliness. |

| 50 Cent – Candy Shop Lyrics | 18 years ago |
50 Cent ruins modern music. This isn't even music. This is a disgrace to a beautiful art. 50 Cent has single-handedly shown, if not ONLY through this song then through every one of his, that he is a brainless douche. Seriously. Yes, there is a fair amount of rock that is bad in this way of sexism, but none of it compares to THIS...this terrible piece. I've seen dog vomit that looked prettier than these lyrics. 50 Cent has no business in making music. He's become a huge celebrity, and he has no fucking idea how to deal with it. HE HAS NO TALENT WHATSOEVER. The fact that this type of song influences young people is positively horrifying. I respect people making music, as a musician myself. Music is a beautiful thing, and has so many elements to it. 50 Cent respected none of these. Turning on a drum machine and bragging about how much money you have and how much pussy you get and how you abuse women is disgusting. Way to go, 50. You're a big man. You destroy the name of music, and you can't even comprehend that you have, because you're just rolling around in your money, not knowing what to do with it. You are, quite honestly, a disgrace to society. People who think like you shouldn't even be allowed to be in this industry. You're bringing down the intelligence of society, asshole. I hope you're happy. Fucking prick. |

| James Blunt – Goodbye My Lover Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I hate James Blunt. I don't know why. And I hate that I love this song so much. It's just...so true. We've all been there, so you can connect. Love can be so good yet so painful. |

| Styx – Suite Madame Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well it is VERY likely about America. However, I think that you can interpret lyrics however you want - that's the beauty of music. Personally, I can relate it to a girl in my recent past. That's what music is all about - taking it in your own way. |

| Snow Patrol – Open Your Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song has a lot of meaning to me. It reminds me, as with so many others, of my ex, who I still love to pieces. I connect with the lyrics so much - I just want her and I to get back to being the best friends we are and have been for so long. The relationship was short, but the friendship has been so long. "Get up get out get away from these liars 'cause they don't get your soul or your fire." Man, this song connects with me so well. |
| Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is...incredible to me. It reminds me of my ex. It was one of the first songs I heard after she broke it off. Always reminds me of her. Though surprisingly it makes me happy, not only sad. Which is kind of nice. I still love her so. And I also heard it on Grey's Anatomy...TOUGH song to listen to then. This song is written perfectly. It's simple, to the point, and a joy to listen to. |
