In my opinion it has to due with the life he lives. Being a rock star and travelling all the time makes it hard to have a girl friend. I believe Matt is saying that he doesn't mind being on the road and still having a girl... but his girl can't take having him gone so much. When he says "I don't mind, but I'm not surprised to find that you do", he's saying that he knew that they may run into this problem of him being on the road his whole life. And when he says "So I guess that I'll curl up and die too", he's expressing that he loves her and wants to make her happy.. even if it means dying. |

Well first of all Mat Kearney's music is freakin awesome. Go see him live if you dont think he's good.. he's got quite a bit of God given talent. But this song is symbolism. If you watch the music video, It's Mat (who died) and he's comforting this girl... it looked like a random girl to me. But that symbolized Jesus (God) always being there for us. And the girl felt Jesus' presence right then in her time of need. |

I'll sum up what this song means cause most of u are missing it lol.
Her God given gift (music) is not only a gift but a curse too. The 'curse' part of it is that she can NEVER stop thinking of music. When she eats, sleeps, etc, she cant stop thinking of music. But on the other hand her musical gift can change a boring situation into the most fun she's ever had. She took doing the dishes (boring) and made a game out of it. Also there is always a song on the tip of her tounge... and she loves that. (a new melody is "yearing to get out"). And when she says "start to feel mortality surround me" she's saying that there are responsibilities in life and although she wishes it could be, life isnt a song. |
