The Academy Is... – Every Burden Has a Version Lyrics 16 years ago
For me, this song isn't about living in excess. I think it's about being in a situation that isn't healthy. I almost want to say that she's being abused because of these lines: "She'd rather repair her face with the lights turned off" which to me implies she's denying the abuse, ignoring it and pretending it didn't happen at all, even though she's got the marks to prove it; "Don't try to hide, Don't justify a thing" is self explanatory; "This will be the last time She hides her eyes behind her hair" which, again, is pretty self-explanatory.

However, I don't think it's totally about being in an abusive situation. She may just be disgusted with herself, with her life, with the way she lives. She doesn't want to see herself for who she's become... she just gets through day by day, just putting up with it.

Buffalo Tom – Mineral Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't know if this has anything to do with the song, but if you go to the beach at night, down to where the water and the sand meet, and you run your hands through the sand, you see green lights, like sparkles.

This is due to the minerals in the salt water meeting the minerals in the sand.

This song always reminds me of that - the little green sparkles.

Pencey Prep – Attention Reader Lyrics 18 years ago
Supposedly, this song is about the drummer in Frank's previous band. He slept with Frank's girlfriend, which is why the band dismembered. He's mentioned this in interviews also.

It's pretty self-explanatory. It's something you might expect from a girlfriend, but not one of your best friends, which explains why this song is directed toward the 'friend.'

These lyrics are way wrong, by the way.
