Don Henley – Inside Job Lyrics 13 years ago
Absolutely right, t325. 9/11 conspiracy theorists are fucking retarded.

Journey – Faith in the Heartland Lyrics 15 years ago
It is also my favorite song off of Generations (and I didn't really like the version Pineda did for Revelation, to be honest), although Butterfly (She Flies Alone) is a close second for me personally. Definitely one of the better post-Perry Journey songs, in my opinion.

Journey – Change for the Better Lyrics 15 years ago
Yeah, I expected the lyrics to be wrong; I copied them directly out of the CD booklet. Journey has had several CDs with erroneous lyrics in the booklet =/.

Aerosmith – The Grind Lyrics 16 years ago
My favorite track off of Honkin' on Bobo (2004); very bluesy combined with Tyler's distinct vocals, great song.

Journey – With Your Love Lyrics 16 years ago
What's worse; that I misspelled the word "lonely", or that it took me a week to realize I had?

Don Henley – They're Not Here, They're Not Coming Lyrics 16 years ago
The meaning in this song, as described by Henley on the Inside Job Live DVD, is that it's not that extra-terrestrials haven't come to Earth because they can't; it's because they don't want to. "Primary cultural exports being theme parks and junk food....and rock and roll of course."

Don Henley – Everything Is Different Now Lyrics 16 years ago
I believe this song is about Henley's wife, Sharon, whom he married in 1995. On the Inside Job Live DVD he comments: "this next one is about one of the most profound changes that can happen to anybody; and it's called Everything Is Different Now."

Journey – Wheel in the Sky Lyrics 16 years ago
Hoo man, got a lot of personal memories attatched to this song; which I needn't discuss in such a public forum.

Anyway this song is easily my favorite; not only to listen to, but to sing/play (on guitar). This song was really the one that inspired me to sing, and singing it like Perry is something I only recently learned to do, and it blows me away, personally.

For me it means things keep on going, whether it be life or whatever; there's always a tomorrow.

Journey – With Your Love Lyrics 16 years ago
I forgot to mention in my last comment, but I particularly like the bridge "I've walked among the loneley..."

One of my favorite songs to sing because of it.

Journey – With Your Love Lyrics 16 years ago
A nice ballad, my third favorite favorite song (to listen to and sing) with Steve Augeri.

Journey – Remember Me Lyrics 16 years ago
Haha wow I thought the exact same thing; I thought that this was still with Steve Perry until I read the comments on this page and went "Damn it's another person?"

Yea this is definitely my favorite song with Steve Augeri; I feel that it's his strongest work, as they recorded it before imitating Perry destroyed his vocals (temporarily) =\.

Also, since I can sing Journey songs with Perry pitch-for-pitch (although pitch isn't everything, as any vocalist will tell you), singing this one as a Journey song is a nice break :S.

Journey – Loved By You Lyrics 16 years ago
This is probably my second favorite song with Steve Augeri after Remember Me. Partly because this song doesn't have him straining his vocals like he does on the Perry covers, and I guess I'm just a fan of ballads.

I think the meaning is self-explanatory, however.

Pat Benatar – Shooting Star Lyrics 16 years ago
For those of you who don't know, this is a song written by Harry Chapin. Benatar performed this at a Harry Chapin tribute concert in 1987 (released on CD in 1990 IIRC).

Another interesting tidbit is that Chapin taught Benatar how to sing rock and roll.

Just so you guys know, this song was not written by Steve Perry, it was written by Robert Fleischman.

Harry Chapin – The Shortest Story Lyrics 17 years ago
I read somewhere that this song is about a dying boy in a hospital.

Harry Chapin – Tangled Up Puppet Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is the complement song to Cat's in the Cradle (Both were written by his wife) and takes a reverse perspective: the child grows up not wanting to be with his/her parents.

Harry Chapin – Six String Orchestra Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is about all beginner/bad guitarists trying to make it in the music world but can't because no one will join him, but he continues to play because he loves it and is thus in a monophonic symphony, six-string orchestra.

Harry Chapin – Shooting Star Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is about Harry's grandparents. What about I can't remember. But the performance by Pat Benatar at the 1987 tribute concert (On CD) is also amazing.

Harry Chapin – Sandy Lyrics 17 years ago
I think the meaning of this song is obvious, it's about his wife Sandra Chapin.

submissions
Harry Chapin – Mr. Tanner Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is obviously about a musician who doesn't know nor care how well he performs because he just loves doing it.

submissions
Harry Chapin – Old College Avenue Lyrics 17 years ago
This song was about Harry's experience in college with a girl (Either the Air Force Academy or Cornell University, I don't remember which)

submissions
Harry Chapin – Circle Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is known as the Chapin Anthem, as Harry (And tribute performers) would play this song at the end of their concerts. Anyway it was written for Tom's kids show "Make a Wish" on ABC and it's about humanity being like a circle, nothing is ever set in front of you from the start, there are no clear choices, and nothing ever comes to a dead end.

Harry Chapin – Jenny Lyrics 17 years ago
Sorry I meant his daughter Jennifer. Same thing really.

Harry Chapin – Jenny Lyrics 17 years ago
All I know is that it's about his daughter Jenny, for what reason I forget.

Harry Chapin – Dancing Boy Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is about Harry's son, Joshua, who used to go on stage with Harry and dance to his music when he was younger.

Harry Chapin – 30,000 Pounds of Bananas Lyrics 17 years ago
It's interesting on how this song was meant to be totally serious but fans & critics thought it was a joke song and thus Harry made subsequent live versions faster-paced with audience interactions/jokes.

Harry Chapin – Dance Band on the Titanic Lyrics 17 years ago
Actually Harry said on the Rockpalast Live DVD that it was how the "Dance Band on the Titanic" entertained the passengers to entertain them and calm them even though they were in danger (The iceberg's on the starboard bow, won't you dance with me). And because of that Harry thought he and his band were like that, playing away and trying to calm/entertain people during troubled times.
