Great corrections in the comment section! Such fantastic lyrics, wouldn't expect any less from the great Kensrue. |

Dustin said there was an anagram in the song that would help with the meaning, "son, imitate deaths true face" = The United States of America. I'm pretty sure this song is about america being ashamed of the extent to which we wage war and in the name of what? |

This song is not very ambiguous in it's lyrics but are none the less terrific. Sabio pretty much spelled it out. He is putting us in the shoes of some living overseas having to deal with that. |

In an MTV interview Dustin recommends David Ray Griffins "9/11 commission report: omissions and distortions" Griffin is a leading conspiracy theorist on 9/11. Though I don't agree with any conspiracy theories, I don't think the govt. was 100% honest about the attacks either. |

Yeah, it is awesome to see how having a daughter has affected Dustin, he writes about it in The Whaler, Sky is falling and this one. Sounds like a lullaby he might sing to her toward the end! I love it! |

wow i'm surprised no one has got this yet. This is the story of Isaiah. I believe you can find the some exact quotes in Isaiah chapter 6. It is believed he was killed by a wooden saw when prophets were being persecuted. |

I think the smallest thread is just a metaphor for how close we are to destroying ourselves with nuclear weapons. |

In a very literal sense it's awesome how this song musically and lyrically is referring to backdraft. The creepy intro sounds just like fire is waiting to be re-introduced to the oxygen and explodes in the chorus "oh swing the door wide open"! I have yet to find a personal meaning though haha. i think this albums lyrics are much more ambiguous |

This song is a simple message of hope. Though the lyrics only indicate despair, the end musically indicates an "unexplained miracle" as dustin called it on the vheissu podcast.(which to dustin is probably god) |

There is no question that this is a response to Lennon's "Imagine". Kensrue breaks it down virtually line by line. He calls "Imagine" just a lullaby that has good intentions but cannot be good or true. |
