Bob Dylan – Joey Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure it's Emmylou Harris.
It definitely sounds like her.

Janis Joplin – Mercedes Benz Lyrics 18 years ago
She is making fun of the materialistic desires of the majority of society. Our infatuation with spiffy cars, fancy meals and drinks, as well as high-tech gadgets. This world is full of greedy bastards.

Bob Dylan – All Along the Watchtower Lyrics 18 years ago
As mentioned in previous posts, I view this song to be about class structure. The thief is symbolic of the lower class, and the joker of the middle class. They're approaching "The Watchtower", or a place where members of the upper-class reside, in an attempt to possibly begin a revolution. They're disgusted with the odious acts of those in power, and they realize that social change is necessary.

Donovan – Colours Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, it was perfect for that scene. Probably my favourite of the whole movie. The camera angles, the split screen, the actions of both characters.. fuck. It went so well with that scene.

Against Me! – We Did It All for Don Lyrics 18 years ago
"we were carried by the wheels of armageddon"
It may be about their former van, but I don't really see it that way.
Armageddon represents the end of ones life, we are all living to die. Everything we do is part of the journey to our death, but through our friends, we make that road more pleasurable. We should all do, act, and experience whatever we want, because armageddon is lurking, and what is the point in living to die when in between you are living for someone else.
sorry if that made no fucking sense.

Evan Greer – Liberty Is a Statue Lyrics 18 years ago
What I get from this song is that we are "programmed" at a young age to all act, think, do the same things. We are taught to do what the wolrd tells us to do, as oppposed to what we want to. It shows the naivety of most people to their surroundsings.

Ryan Adams – To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High) Lyrics 18 years ago
This song really does sound a lot like Dylan.
It reminds me of 'Maggies Farm'.

Bright Eyes – Drunk Kid Catholic Lyrics 18 years ago
Anyone think that maybe " ...crawl from the oceans to paint in the caves.... workin all weekend I need to get paid..." Part could simply just be commenting on how ridiculous our own evolution has become, how tedious modern life is
I don't think there was any deeper meaning intended by the lines.

Against Me! – We Laugh at Danger (And Break All the Rules) Lyrics 18 years ago
"I heard you used to cry when you made love to him"

I was wondering if anyone knows if that line has anything to do with the Dire Straits song, "Romeo and Juliet"?

Green Day – 86 Lyrics 18 years ago
" When I was little, I used to sing this song to myself as:
"There's no return from 80's sex!" "

When I was five, my brother bought Insomnia, and I used to sing along to thigs song, except I would say "There's no return from innocense."

oh to be young.
