Nat King Cole's voice is just amazing. He makes the song full of life and brings a certain ambiance that you can't get from any other artist. I have to agree with white stone 3, you definitely got it on point. This is about keeping a smile even if you feel like giving up. A smile will just bring happiness to those around you and to yourself. |

My favorite line from this song is
"Cause I can't wait to figure out what's wrong with me

I think what John Mayer is trying to say is that he wishes he can figure out what the problem is so that he can learn from it and continue his relationship peacefully. "So I can say this is the way I use to be" means the next time a problem like this happens, he'll know what to do because he has already experienced it before. |

This is my fav song on the album... definitely speaks about not knowing what way to take in life. Not knowing your purpose here on this planet. Instead of going back to his old ways he takes a new direction in life. Hence "he smiles" meaning that he found something better. |

John is not overrated to whoever said he was... we need more people like him in the music scene. He IS the truth! He plays the guitar so well, he's not the best singer, but all his songs are speaking from his experiences. The reason why people like him so much is because so many people can relate to him.
This song is perhaps about his loneliness on the road with no one to experience it with, ex. his girlfriend. It is an experience that could only be seen through a person's eyes and not by a picture or words. |

I love this song but the lyrics aren't the greatest. I like the changeup from the verse to the chorus though.. It's a melody that you wouldn't expect so I guess that's why I really like it to much. |

one of my fav songs by nerd.. the way i interpreted the song is that this guy has nothing better to do with his life so he becomes a drug dealer (the provider).. transports the goods in the truck hoping that he doesnt get pulled over by the cops.. as he's driving he asks himself whether he'll ever get his life back on track.. comes home and promises his wife that this will all end someday and he'll change his familiy's life when he saves enough money. |
