This song reminds me a lot of songs by The Shins. I get a war vibe from it. |

| I think this song is about how the sounds and beauty of nature are more enjoyable than the entertainment that people use more often these days i.e tv | |
| Garbage – Can't Cry These Tears Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song is about her giving up the quest to find happiness. She can't find it anywhere not even in her lover, so what's the point? | |

I'd have to agree with kssj4. That's the vibe I got. I also got a sense oif desperation so it really doesn't matter who he hooks up with. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Pretty In Pink Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It's a great cover because it's about what Amanda often talks about...a female who is easy to sleep with who is a joke to most people even the ones who slept with her. Poor Caroline. As for the title...I don't see the corralation to the movie Pretty in Pink...oh well. | |

The beginning is definently a reference to Through the Looking Glass which is indeed the sequel book to Alice in Wonderland. (The movie messed it up). The lines from the walrus and the carpenter part specifically goes " 'The time has come' The walrus said To talk of many things Of seals, and ships, and sealing wax Of cabbages and kings And why the sea is boiling hot And whether pigs have wings" But anyway what I think this song is about is about a girl who is an ex-cutter who happens to be in love with a guy who cuts. "i bared my wrists and promised to begin but you cut the blade straight in" First she shows him her scars and promises to start this relationship but not fall back into cutting. But then he cuts and she sees. Seeing him cut now makes her miss, almost crave, cutting again so she cuts. By the end the relationship is over but the cutting isn't. "it took that cut to bring me back to life theyre bleeding and theyre frightened still i hold out both my hands no one in the world will ever touch me there again." She regrets ever cutting again and now without that guy she has no one because no one will accept her cut up arms and she holds out her hands trying to find someone who will. |

| The Dresden Dolls – The Perfect Fit Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song. It shows how Amanda isn't confident about herself. At the beggining, every time she states something she can do well, she diminished the importance of it by saying what she can't do. Then it goes into the "I used to be the bright one..." which is something very common. A lot of people (Like Amanda) are born to excell at things at an early age. Although other people weren't born with these skills she didn't practice at anything so now she is left to be known as common as opposed to when she used to be "top of her class". Then by the end she is desperate. I think when she is saying to fix "it" for her she is referring to her heart. | |
