Being dry in an ocean of fear - meaning he's the only one unafraid perhaps? It makes more sense to me as: So you say, "I can't be alive Until there is nothing When we're meeting eyes again." Either way, actually. They cannot live fully until they've gotten over the other. Well, Hershey has it all covered pretty well. On the final stanza, diving into his own "sea" sounds more like learning to love oneself / becoming complete or content on your own. Finding another song could be any number of things. A new perspective, aspect of themselves, a new love. A place, too, could be interpreted in a few ways. A new place as a new or refined person, or a place at all. Perhaps after the loss they realized they were in a place that didn't fit, or never had a place at all-only that love. |

Has anyone else noticed this? "Oh, I can see now That all of these clouds are following me-- --Keeping an eye on the world I'm at home in the clouds, towering over your head" The last part of the song confuses me a little, since the lyrics seem to contradict themselves, saying she's watching over him from the clouds, yet she's over him (unless interpreted literally) and washed out of her mind. In any case, that was something that took me a while to connect. It's sweet though. |

I agree with snowbeast, it can be openly interpreted. Listen to this part: "I don't know what to do to let you know just what I'm thinking. I want you to stay longer." In a relationship with God, even if you don't know how to express your thoughts, you should realize you don't need to. He knows. Better to my argument is the second line; God is always there. The artist's desire for this person to stay longer comes from them not being able to always be together. luv4J, I'm really kind of sorry that you cannot put that much faith in another person.. but they can. I'll assume the relationship that can cure your pain protect you is describing one with God. It's really the same thing with another person. I'll loosely use the word Bliss to describe how you would feel with and apart from them, because you know at all times there's someone who trusts, accepts, and loves you. Nothing in the world can take it from you. Now, if by "ALL" Harm you mean physical danger, that point is kinda moot for both. Simply, we are not invincible. By stressing "all" so much you ruined it for yourself. >_> If emotional, well, see the above paragraph again. |

It sounds like a long-distance relationship, having heard the map bit. An inch could be any number of miles depending on the scale. Her rebuttal is that if he's really so close, he should be able to reach out and touch her. Perhaps she feels that he hasn't been there enough for her, or doubts the relationship because he's not there physically. (An "I'll believe it when I see it," kind of thing.) I say that, because I can't think of any reason she should respond so.. negatively, unless it was because it wans't possible. ;\ This also causes most of the chorous make sense; "Have you given too much away...Did the going get tough this time?" since it would be difficult to make time for this person if the only way to contact them is over the internet or phone, especially if the distance spans timezones. |
