actually, i'm like 99.9% sure that Matt Good wrote this song, not Sonny. Matt wrote 8 of the songs on Heroine, and Sonny only wrote three. I know for sure that two of them are "Afterbirth" and "Shame, Shame", and I think the third one is "Waltz Moore" and, yeah, the third voice in the song confused me. It's deffienatly not Sonny.. I think it might be Travis. Either Travis, or Matt. |

These lyrics are missing the "Why can't they see?.." part. This song is just basically about not listening to anyone who tells you to change or stop doing something you love, and just standing up for yourself and fucking the rest. Song is beautiful, really. Even if you don't like screamo, you can't help but relate. It's also amazing live. :) |

The song sounds like a perfect discription of Raoul Duke in the book, and movie. Raoul Duke being Hunter Thompson, obviously. Actually, when you read the lyrics and then watch the movie/read the book it seems to sum him up quiet nicely. :) |

I think the robot is like, his gaurdian, keeping him from doing something un-systematic. The whole video, you see the kid grow up normally, find a girl, get a job, go to war, come back,, get married, have kids, and get old. But he never does something rememberable, his life was planned out for him and sure it was good, but it could have been great. "You come in this world, and you go out just the same." He dies the way he was born, cold and covered in blood. "Today could be the best day of your life" It could be, if you made it be. I think the message in this song is clear; Just have fun. |

The nightmare theory makes sense to me. Listening to the line "Never fall asleep, you won't wake up!" sounds like if he fell asleep, they'd kill him, hence him not waking up. |
