Ahh, I love love love this song.
I think its about just ignoring what people are saying, and letting go of all the shit they've said about you before. Be who you want to be not what they think you should.

this is a great song there's so many like it, with the same point but nobodyevery really listens, if they did then stupid labels and and people trying be be a paris hilton/jessica simpson clone it's really quite sad in that sense. today i was watching a child pagent and not one of the kids were happy and every single one of them was blonde and had a crap load of make-up and the parents would never say that they were pretty, unless of course the kid wins them $2500

These lyrics are missing the "Why can't they see?.." part.
This song is just basically about not listening to anyone who tells you to change or stop doing something you love, and just standing up for yourself and fucking the rest.
Song is beautiful, really. Even if you don't like screamo, you can't help but relate.

I agree, this song is incredible live. Greeley Estates is a great band to see live in general. This really reminds me of Emerson and the Transcendentalists' way of thinking and pointing out that we are too caught up in what other people want and not what our intuition is trying to lead us to do.

possibly my fav song from greeley. all about saying that you should do what you're passionate about and that you may struggle but are still truly with yourself cuz you didn't run away from it and do what everyone else believes to be the "social norm"
