In the line "Who saw silence in the records she found" I think "silence" should probably be "solace," which makes a lot more sense. Regardless, the first half of this song is the most important song GCH ever wrote. Homophobia is all too rampant and unchecked in hip-hop, and the first half of this track is completely speaking out against that. I only wish they were still writing such socially-conscious songs. |

The first time this line appears, it actually goes "Push your battering lips on *other* unsuspecting men." The second time, I think it says "Push your battering lips on *other* unsuspecting *lovers*." Amazing song though. |

| This song destroys. Easily the best track on the album. | |

ishmaelDust just proved exactly what's wrong with the sort of blind patriotism/nationalism this song invokes. It causes ignorant people to have such violent, irrational, knee-jerk reactions that people end up getting hurt. S/he is condoning deportation and public execution just for not liking a *song* that's supposedly patriotic. That's akin to saying it's ok to stab someone for calling your mom fat. And here I thought we lived in the "land of the free" where people didn't have to fear expressing their opinions. |
