i used to listen to this band all the time, just thinking how they sounded really great but they were nothing special. recently i heard this song and was astounded, the lyrics are amazing and it made me get into jets to brazil all over again, i really think they are one of the best bands out there, severly underrated. |

| Rilo Kiley – Dreamworld Lyrics
|
it took me like 10 times listening to this song to like it, but i really like it now. the lyrics are probably one of the best rilo kiley lyrics. it's just kind of social commentary about how you can like in your "dreamworld" be it one of ignorance, or thinking your doing the right thing to get by, or just getting by at all.
"Me and you and what we'd do for money" makes me think of selling drugs or sex or whatever, and how even though it's wrong, in the end you can be happy you made your money and go home and think everything is completely right in your dream world. |

| Rilo Kiley – Love and War (11/11/46) Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I think that the first three parts, up to rigfht before the part about her grandpa, are about how love and sex are as dangerous as war.
"shift each other's body to accept the bullet" reminds me of sex, and how looking back on it and you're so willing to do something that can be so dangerous in the end for whatever reason, like you are not in love. or your doing it to harm yourself, like promiscuous sex. "its only for the wounded the purple hearted." |

Show me the pictures you dont want to see,
The things you dont want me to know.
Everyones asking where did you go?
Everyones asking where did you go?
its like, i want to know everything about you, even the things you dont want to tell. i know its gonna be okay.

| Motion City Soundtrack – Last Night Lyrics

FAVORITE song off the new album.
"My body aches, it heaves, it shakes
All somersaults through so-called art
And I still don't know exactly who I am
I never will,
Amen"
like a prayer to sum up exactly what MCS is about. art, finding yourself, being fucked up, pain, and just living with it. |

| Tegan and Sara – Nineteen Lyrics
|
when she says "i was nineteen" for the first time, the way she says it sounds to me like "i was only nineteen, how could you do this to me"
like she's watching hersefl on tv and saying to the person "call me, call me!" like she can persuade him to. like it would change something. but then the verse when she says "i flew home.." is like when she finally realizes it won't happen. she can't change it. then she says "i was yours.. right?" like reconsidering that they were even REALLY together. |
