Let It Rain Lyrics
Super automatic pilot motor running down circles in the parking lot
Self-sustaining system bit her in the neck and quick and kissed her and took all she got
Did you come here to dance?
What’s in your glass?
Do you feel better?
Let it rain, Let it pour
Let it rain, Let it pour
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let it rain, Let it pour
Cruise-control distressed, her kind of cursed and kind of blessed her, engine running on the fumes
Vision blue and blurry, falling angels in a flurry, spinning through the empty room
Did you come here to dance?
What’s in your glass?
Do you feel better now?
Let it rain, Let it pour
Let it rain, Let it pour
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let it rain, Let it pour
Super automatic pilot motor running down circles in the parking lot
Self-sustaining system bit her in the neck and quick and kissed her and took all she got
Let it rain, Let it pour
Let it rain, Let it pour
Let it pour
Let it pour
Self-sustaining system bit her in the neck and quick and kissed her and took all she got
What’s in your glass?
Do you feel better?
Let it rain, Let it pour
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let it rain, Let it pour
Vision blue and blurry, falling angels in a flurry, spinning through the empty room
What’s in your glass?
Do you feel better now?
Let it rain, Let it pour
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let it rain, Let it pour
Self-sustaining system bit her in the neck and quick and kissed her and took all she got
Let it rain, Let it pour
Let it pour
Let it pour

Hmm, this song might just be about trying to forget about your problems, but then just letting all the sadness out...venting.
Did you come here to dance? What’s in your glass? Do you feel better?
alcohalism?
sorry for spelling byt the way
"bit her in the neck and quick and kissed her and took all she got" I think she has let someone take advantage of her in a relationship, had sex without really wanting to and she's drinking away her depression. And I think the singer is trying to convince her just to vent "let it rain" which is also obviously related to the whole drinking thing!
My two cents- life gives u a lot of shit..will rain everything out of u..it will make u go around in circles...and u will feel like u r not in control..that life is in smthing like cruise control..but all the pain, all the hurt...it all shud be washed away, vented...and we shud make fresh beginnings everytime we are down...
read that-"will drain everything out of u"
This song had a lot to do with venting and being taken advantage of. The first time I heard this song, I was in a relationship where the guy barely paid a lick of attention to me. I ended up in the arms of a friend, and we had our first kiss to this song. It went on, after all the sweetness and everything, the only thing this guy wanted was sex. I had originally turned to alcohol, but this is one of the songs that helped me cope.
Wonderful song. One of my faves
I feel this song might be about suicide. I don't know why, but I just get the feeling that she's trying to overdose or something...well never mind.
Anyway, I think that this song is about dying inside. There's a lot of things like "super automatic pilot" self-sustaining system" and "cruise control" to suggest that this person is just going about the normal routine, pretending that everything's fine when in reality, there's a huge crisis going on inside of them. Also, I dunno if I'm right about this but instead of "distressed, her" I always heard "disaster" so the line would be "cruise control disaster kinda cursed and kinda blessed her" ... maybe this means that whoever it was just went along, pretending everything was fine, possible drinking away her sadness, when all of a sudden something happened and made "cruise control" go wrong and she couldn't keep acting like it was fine and so there was this huge meltdown and...and...I dunno. I'm getting carried away.
This song is very much about drinking your troubles away, aside from the obvious like blurred vision, "What's in your glass? Do you feel better now?" and spinning in an empty room, "Let it rain" is alternated with "let it pour" as an allusion to the weather, but also to pouring another drink.
This song is so beautiful.
