Crumb – 1,2 Lyrics 18 years ago
I find it incredibly difficult to believe these guys never took off. Romance is a slowdance is all that was right with alternative rock in the '90's. It is flawless from start to finish.

This song evokes such a great sense of bitterness. This song always feels like a slowdance, and I always likened the title to that feeling. Though at first glance it appears to be a love song, it seems to be addressed to a brother or father rather than a lover. The business suit line certainly reenforces that idea, but the strangers line at the end seems to work better in regards to love. Either way, it is a beautiful song to end an album with.

Beck – The Golden Age Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree suclid, this song just completely envelopes you from start to finish. However, I don't feel the golden age line is entirely sarcastic. A night time drive with the windows down, bathing you in moonlight, lets "the weight of the world drift away." I think that's about as realistic a portrayal he could give. You're not necessarily escaping the problem, but that drive certainly alleviates a great deal of anxiety. The older I get, the more I find this song embodies the drive down the Atlantic City Expressway during a cool summer evening. "It's a treacherous road," indeed.
