Among the coral and the kelp
I can sink fine I don't need your help
Or your cement shoes
That business suit looks better on you anyway
Shrugging your shoulders
Hands in pockets
Loneliness invades
Fingers find sockets
And now you know my gloves are off
Remarkably you're relaxed you sit and scoff
Because at the bottom of it all we both know
That these targets of mine will never fall
We can end up strangers the way we began
We can and we will write wills
I would hate for you to waste your precious time
I left a note upon your desk
PS don't worry I'm sinking fine
I can sink fine I don't need your help
Or your cement shoes
That business suit looks better on you anyway
Hands in pockets
Loneliness invades
Fingers find sockets
And now you know my gloves are off
Remarkably you're relaxed you sit and scoff
Because at the bottom of it all we both know
That these targets of mine will never fall
We can and we will write wills
I would hate for you to waste your precious time
I left a note upon your desk
PS don't worry I'm sinking fine

I find it incredibly difficult to believe these guys never took off. Romance is a slowdance is all that was right with alternative rock in the '90's. It is flawless from start to finish.
This song evokes such a great sense of bitterness. This song always feels like a slowdance, and I always likened the title to that feeling. Though at first glance it appears to be a love song, it seems to be addressed to a brother or father rather than a lover. The business suit line certainly reenforces that idea, but the strangers line at the end seems to work better in regards to love. Either way, it is a beautiful song to end an album with.
