I think poli got the meaning right, it's about telling someone you'd die for how you feel about him/her. The person in the song is probably about to give up on it all because the other one never returns his/her feelings, but this is one last call for the other one to save him/her. The selfishness (for once he/she will think about him/herself) will end his adoration for the other person, and this song is one last call to be saved. (Last chance, probably with some hope in it too)

This is a song I can relate to. Shirley sings the chorus with a begging tone, compared to the seductive tone in the stanzas. The lyrics, in a way, show the evolution of the girl's feelings. First she wants to prove she can make the guy like her, then she says she'll change herself for him, and in the end the anger turns up, but in the end she realises that she always will be his "victim", as long as she loves him. (and she forgives him for doing that during that time)

I always interpreted this song as a reproach to the whole "I feel bad because it's cool"-attitude. I always used it to stress the stereotype of being the sad creepy person. Great song, great band. |

This is one of the only songs that can make me feel better when I'm feeling down, it really voices my feelings. And indeed, when Peter starts screaming, it's like the ultimate release of feelings. I adore this song. |

Beautiful. My guess about the meaning is that it's a song about some "femme fatale" who breaks the heart of many men. The "Leave her alone"-part could be a warning to whoever might be interested in talking to the woman.
Too bad the booklet doesn't include the Russian part, I'd love to know what Steele sings there. |
