Remember that songs aren't always meant to be taken in a literal sense. I think the 'pills' represent taking risks in your life; it doesn't mean you should go and get high, just step outside your comfort zone and experience something fun and wonderful. Great song! I just wish they would've included the lyrics in the cd booklet. |

This song is so beautiful, one of my favorite b-sides. I think it's about a guy who finally found the girl of his dreams, and he's expressing this admiration in the first four lines. The second line appears confusing at first, but I see it as him promising to share his most intimate dreams and fantasies and thoughts and feelings that only he understands. Chaser is more of his concience I think, and he's thinking to himself how great life is at the moment. But then, he finds out of another girl who is in love with him ('secret flies out') and becomes frustrated and confused. I think it's another girl because of the next line: "two are you" i.e.- two girls he must choose between "two are me 'cause I don't care if I sit entirely alone" meaning, maybe he should just give up both and settle for being solitary. Or, I could be being over analytical, my other thought is that he truly is just enjoying life without worrying about lonliness and trying to keep his head steady. |

I think this is more of a satirical song- like they are claiming to be the Gods of music in some way. But then again there's this dreamlike (or perhaps nightmare?) quality that you hear with the middle verses. The music is larger than life and so powerful with this song, it simply takes you away. |

Felis, thankyou for sharing that, it was a beautiful story. This song hits home in a way for me as well. I was not ever abused myself, but 2 of my friends were, and my mother was a therapist for victims of sexual abuse/rape. "Don't touch her there She told me She remembers how it felt" These lines hurt the most for me. My friend shared the events of her abuse, she told me, she remembered what she did. And then the girl moved away soon after that- "Like you left us without notice." In another case, I heard the story of a girl I used to be best friends with, how she was raped by a friend. "It's not you" for me relates to my utter shock of who the person was who did it to her. "This is not happening" is an excuse many family members use to cover up the truth that someone they love is being abused- they don't want to admit what's really going on. In the video, the bear is killed by an evil being, and the young woman transforms into a little girl. I saw this as the girl's innocence being stripped from her (bear dying) and she'd been forced to grow up to fast when infact she's simply a child. This is such a gorgeous song and means so much to me. Everything about it is brilliant. |

| I always thought 'twice coloured' meant she was twice as scary and twice as evil as everyone else, has done twice as many bad deeds. It seems like she has a very arrogant/proud, been-there-done-that sort of attitude, although it's precisely those actions that ended her up in such a frightening situation (or perhaps state of mind?). | |

| I always thought of Mica as a b*tch of a girl who never quite learned to grow up and become an adult. "Made my arms hurt so that I would happily forget"- she was in a relationship that was very unsteady because of the things she did. She is acting very shocked at the way her actions affect things and how life is basically giving her a slap in the face, although she had been warned of that. The guy is saying he's done so much for her to help, but it is of no use if she isn't willing to change. Now she's feeling sorry for herself and no one really seems to care. "She worked hard to be his novice and then broke into his office. With her clothes off, her clothes off still"- I think means that she's trying so hard to impress him, but it's such a pathetic and desperate attempt that he's just annoyed. Now we see the relationship begin to crumble, "a small dart" is to signify him trying to get her to care more about him and less about herself. "Let me do the talking, now that I’m here. You’ll steal all the attention anyway."- this always makes me think of them being in therapy- but I think it's actually the guy finally taking a stand against her and sticking up for himself. "‘cause something about you compels me to feel that a glued together vase is still a vase."- this line could have more than one meaning. Maybe he believes that even with all these troubles, he still cares for her and wants to make things work (vase= their relationship). Or it could be more of a humorous line to show him being fed up with her- that she thinks it's all over without trying to fix it, even when he's already tried to mend things, and so he's explaining that he really doesn't give a crud about what she thinks anymore. | |

| I think it's about him realizing the darker side of the one he loves, the side that is coldhearted and vicious. Like in the line: "But I never learned how not to be," he sounds so innocent, so weak, as if he's pleading for her to understand how much he cares about her. Inevitably, it all falls apart, but it pains him all the same. | |
