I think this song is about a situation in which dallas is friends with somebody and becomes infatuated, or maybe even falls in love with her. "So where are the pictures of you and me You put them aside for no one else to see Afraid of what they might say" She doesn't have pictures of them lying around, maybe because she doesn't want people to know they're friends, or something.... afraid of what her friends would say if they found out about him, perhaps? "Not if my heart breaks At least I have your yesterday" even if his heart breaks because of this feeling, he is thinking "at least you cared at one point" or "at least I'm a part of your past" "Is there something going on? Is there something going on? You said you want it to be the way it was before Now something's going on Is there something going on No it's not gonna be the way it was before" Maybe he finally broke down and told her, and she said she just wants to be friends, but everyone knows that once you confess your undying love for a close friend and the feelings aren't reciprocated, the chances of returning to normality are slim to none. but yeah, that's my assessment. any other ideas? |

But at the same time, they never turned their back on their friends. someone did something to lose that friendship, hence the public humiliation. I agree with mr smart ass. If this album got any more like P!ATD, then they would be sued. You can like the album all you want. hell, I like the new album. I think he's talking about being in love "and we both go down together" like, falling in love. and "I'm sorry that this wasn't easy when I asked you believe me and never let go" maybe he means "believe me when I say I love you, and never let go of that thought, no matter what" and she didn't let go, but he did maybe something happened, but they both fell in love but he fell out I don't know. this isn't my favorite song by them, but it reminds me of a friendship that went sour. |

I think he's talking about himself here, not a nightmare. "Theres a place that ive found as far as i can see this place lies within the depths of my dreams " when you dream, you're dreams tell you things you only know in your subconscious mind, trying to bring it to your attention. "I walk with shadows! you've got to find a better way" maybe meaning he has to find a better way of figuring himself out, rather than sleeping? and "destroy the guillotine before he does" ack.
