this song reminds me of a paragraph my friend had me read. basically what it talks about is how there is no "present", just the past and future. because the by the time you react to the "present", it's already in the past. by the time you react to it, it already happened a millisecond ago, and since you can't live in the past...what does that leave you? "can't hold onto what's being done" - that's what really reminded me of this paragraph. |

I think this song is about a few different things. The "someone in the shadows" - being God. (She asks for help in riddles - prayers; but only sometimes.) And then water, i agree with music and sequins, i see as her thoughts. Thoughts keep "falling on her head" but- Every time she tries to express her thoughts, it seems like she freezes up (in a month that brings just ice). She's "clenching water in her fists" - ready to defend herself with her thoughts/words - but it seems as she gathers them up, her thoughts slip away. I think this is questioning God about her life, really. |

I find it somewhat sad that it says "profits are silent" instead of "proPHets". It makes so much more sense the other way, ha.
