| Ben Folds – Sentimental Guy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"There's a moment in my mind I scribbled and erased a thousand times Like a letter never written or sent" I myself have felt this in one way or another, thinking of calling someone and not because of insecurity. I disagree with JoeKinzel on his last remark. Maybe a "cautionary note" but I doubt that Folds is trying to steer listeners away from what is inevitable. Shit happens with relationships, friendships and family. Things don't change, people do, and as time goes on the people you once thought you wanted/needed might not be as important as the people you are with now. Of course Ben wouldn't have written this song if these people from his past weren't of some significance. This song shows that it’s hard looking back on good times and no one to reminisce with. In a sense, I think he misses missing people and places of his past. Now he doesn’t care…difficult to explain if this hasn’t happened to you. Well, you’ll now when it does. |

| Radiohead – Just Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| haha yeah i am relating this to one of my best friends and she is a bullshitter when it comes to this one guy and she breaks up with him because he is a scumbag to her and she "changes the locks" and promises that she is through w/ him, but its becoming a regular ocurring scene where he just waltzes back into her life and out again so sporadically and at first i tried to help but i seperate myself from it now b/c i realized that she enjoys pain and this song is interperated by me in this way but i am slightely wrong with the meanings, as simulated world states. | |

| to dharmajim, yeah i dont think you realize that his music is brilliant and there is no ifs ands or buts about it, you can't question success. There are no rules to rock and roll. you are in no position to judge someone who you know nothing about. you are the definition of bullshit. just enjoy the music, don't give us your ignorant useless thoughts on how someone should have delt with grief guilt depression and addiction. Unless of course you have been on your last limb fighting a heroin addiction. | |

| Wilco – Wishful Thinking Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
You guys think of this song as breakthrough...this is one of many "devastatingly honest" songs of Wilco. But you all have hit is on the nose pretty much. I feel as though Dash 7 would fall into the category as well. On another note, I agree with (Jazzy 09) wishful thinking being your reason to keep walking forward so to speak. In yours and all our cases we are wishfully thinking for that one person to understand how we think of them and reciprocate that love. This seemingly obvious theme (wishful thinking) is not as obvious as we think. Tweedy is just illuminating all of our thoughts or wishes that some of us have forgotten about. In other words this song applies to every living creature, wishing and waiting everyday for mutual love. "Open your arms as far as they will go We take off your dress An embarrassing poem Was written when I was alone In love with you" I wish I wrote that. |
