| Nada Surf – Beautiful Beat Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love this song. I think its about trying again, after giving up, after accepting that mistakes were made, and accepting help. | |
| Weezer – Heart Songs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I usually respect most people's opinions on songs, but awcutting, your reasoning behind the meaning of the song is a really, really big stretch. Just as heart songs can mean they are familiar to him, they could also mean they are valuable to him, which makes more sense; he uses the word "heart". and "broke the chains I had upon me" doesn't seem to be condescending. if kilewithani is right, too, then it kinda contradicts your meaning I saw the song as acknowledging the influences in one's life, and how the culmination of all those influences affect how someone is now. This song is about weezer's musical evolution, but it can be applied to more than just music - one's influence that makes them the person they are now, for example. |

| Atmosphere – Dreamer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
best song on the album? I think the song is about independence, and slug used a struggling teenage mother to represent it. The two long stanzas stick mostly to that idea, but the third, last one makes it pretty clear that his intent was to portray the girl's independence and the pregancy and struggle was the vehicle used, so that how one gets there is dependent on him or herself: "it's all the same we all struggle sometimes you gotta say fuck you" |

| Atmosphere – Little Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Beautiful. The song is about forgiveness, for mistakes he makes, or that he had to endure, and through that he learns that everything is done for a reason, no matter how much it hurts, on either side. He asks for forgiveness from his son, he forgives his father, and he forgives himself |

| Run Kid Run – Miles And States Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| ^note: i just realized the song title, L0VE_08_MUSiC's interpretation is completely feasible haha | |
| Run Kid Run – Miles And States Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| ^ i have to agree with you, but i think its about someone who got into a fight with someone (first line: I'm trying real hard not to care) but on the inside really wants things to go back to normal | |
| Finger Eleven – Paralyzer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
If you look between the lines you'll always, always find songs that "sound" like others. They're riffs. Whats you freakin' point? A song is more than riffs. You can play this song next to any other song that may sound similiar, but they won't feel similar. Thats what makse music. This song sounds sexy. moving. The lyrics match. The riffs do, too. If you want to say this song copies off another, then i'd like to see you really compare Thank you, bangles |

I love this song its about leaving an impact on someone |

| Incubus – A Kiss To Send Us Off Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think everyone has some pretty accurate interpretations. OmEgA-X1's mayan calender reference is correct, 11:11 is when time is supposed to end according to the mayan calender. Good job piecing it all together btw, this song has my favorite song quote - Kill your doubt with the coldest of weapons confidence |

| Amber Pacific – The Right To Write Me Off Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| NIKKIE i think hit it dead on. Its exactly what i thought | |
| Amber Pacific – For What It's Worth Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Its definitely about death, if anyone has ever experienced it im sure you've felt like "my god, why are you doing this to me? why did you put me through this pain?" and it seems like AP is conveying that message | |
| Angels and Airwaves – The Gift Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love this song, its my fav from this album anyways, i took a more metaphorical approach to this song. The "Gift" hes talking about is a new day, the sunrise, representing a second chance. There's the strangest excitement today If you're awake then you're welcome to hear I got a gift and it blew me away From the far eastern sea, straight to here If you're awake, you'll see the sun rise. The sun rises from the east Oh god, I feel like I'm in for it now It's like the rush has gone straight to my brain God my voice is lonely as loud As I whisper the joy of this pain its the realization that its a new day And now, I'll stop the storm if it rains I'll light up a path far from here I'll make your fear melt away And the world we know disappear Sun through the clouds, sun lighting up a path, melting ice, or melting darkness, which is the "world we know" Oh god, i feel like I'm in for it now And how this kiss will be one, roughly vague. I swear I'll melt if you touch me at all And then I'll ask you to do it again and again have you ever felt the sun on your face? these lines remind me of it i like the song, its really inspirational. even if night comes, it goes away. The sun can represent hope, or God, as musicman44 said. |

| Nine Days – Wonderful Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
great song its about someone who is reluctant to love a person, that someone is reluctant because s/he is not confident and does not think that the person would love him/her back, but everyone sees that the person (the line, "All my friends they say im useless like i've always been") does like that someone. The song is telling us, go for it, go for what you feel and don't deny yourself, you'd be denying the other person, too |

| Nine Days – Worth Fighting For Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm quite surprised no one added this song earler; its one of my favorites now. And the meaning is pretty obvious, too. The song is about helping someone who gives up - "finish what you say, don't throw it all away". Its about living without regrets - "you cant rest a good life on the shelf" i swear, this song is sooo full of meaning. every other line is a message, and it all ties together so nicely |

| Dexter Freebish – My Madonna Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Really simple but awesome song - its about finding the perfect one | |
| Jason Mraz – The Beauty in Ugly Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"Don't believe in leaving normal just to satisfy demand" hes saying don't change yourself (leave normal) because other people want it (satisfy demand). the change should be for the person, not for people who want it Great song. sooo catchy :) |

| Jason Mraz – Life Is Wonderful Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love how the song progresses ... its starts off haha, cool and builds up momentum, singin faster, adding instruments, pronouncing deeper... and the lyrics go right with the progression, just like in life | |
| Oblivion Dust – Plastic Wings Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is a favorite - i think the meaing is pretty obvious. Its about drugs and addition, getting high and crashing afterwards. "Plastic Wings" is a nice metaphor for it - they get you high, but its not real, the wings are plastic. The song ends nicely - "long way down", the crash, then the urge to get up again, even higher... | |
| Incubus – Paper Shoes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
yea, it seems like you guys got it. Its about some that brings you down, whenever they're with you. their problems just drag you down but when that person is around other people, they're happy, hence the "pain will roll off like water on feathers" as if nothing happened. |

| Billy Talent – Surrender Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I've actually been in the exact situation descrbed in this song; it was during this time i found this song, too. the friend im talking about, ironically, summed up all that the song is saying: "i dont want to lose him as a friend". I can't have her, but i'll be the next best thing: a good friend. |
|
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – This Velvet Glove Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about losing someone you can't get - he states pretty early that he is alone, and hes reminiscing on things that made him make his decision. Is there any way to change the lyrics? there are a LOT of errors in these... especially the title :/ |
|
| Jason Mraz – Clockwatching Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Very artistic. yes, the song is about sex. get over it. My favorite part of this song is the title - clockwatching. He only says it once, but its idea is repeated over and over again - the watching of the clock, waiting for time to pass by, with nothing happening, the awkwardness in silence. Mraz is saying he doesn't want time to pass like that, he wants something to happen, e.g. love (or sex). And in finding that medium to not waste time (couldn't think of better words, heh) he finds happiness my second favorite part is the last two lines. Its just his finding happiness, but its sooo poetic... i love it |
