I agree muphin. this is a better album than logic, though I love logic a lot. Yet another sad relationship song from the stills, but this time set to a happy beat. its an appropriate first song on the album because it pretty much sets the mood for the rest of the album...breakups that sound happy but are lyrically depressing ;P I find this song extremely super uber dramatic. He sings of two things here: the beginning of time (ball of fire), and his heart breaking. Like they compare! haha It's like, "Oh God my heart hurts so bad, is this where the ball of fire eventually has led up to? depressing but hysterically ridiculous. |

I really have no idea what this song means. Maybe its about a girl that he's trying to help...but I'm not sure about the imagery he's painting here... it sounds cool though. the piano riff at 1:47 in this song is awesome. i love how they incoporate more piano in this album than Logic. |

what does he say right in the very beginning? Is it "haha don't waste your time"?? i think this song is about being on tour getting drunk after the show, while his girlfriend is at home. And some guy steals her away, but he's still kinda too drunk to realize his feelings. So in the morning, he can think clearly, and realizes he's got an "elephant sized malaise". |

i'm sorry moho, but this album is amazing. please don't judge it in comparison to the first album. the whole band changed members, so this version of the stills is completely different than the previous album's. As usual with the Stills, this song is extremely depressing. But they decided that they would do this album happy, while still being really sad haha. i think the meaning of this song is that he was lied to and betrayed. What he once thought was his safe place (house) has been torn down. What he thought was precious to him (soft diamonds) is now worthless. So no he feels like he's being crucified (hanging all night long). THE BEST part in this song are the last lines. He (the mountain) gets angry (catches fire) at the whole situation, but eventually his anger turns to sadness and he cries (melts the snow). So he goes home crying (river carries us home). Listen close, at the end, he laughs sarcastically, brushing off his sadness like we all tend to do sometimes (we've been here before, we'll be there again) i love this song. |
