This is one of the finest songs ever written. And I was a bit surprised by the Minus the Bear comparison, but really, all it needs is some guitar tapping, or some sparse electronica accenting the beat, and it's quite a bit like their later material. |

I think it sounds more like the mother has passed away. So her promise was that she'd always be there for her son, and she converses with the birds because she is in heaven. |

Vegetarians + violent protests = hypocrisy, Arrogant Worms just took it a step further for irony's sake. The result is a hilarious and beautiful song that, strangely enough, reminds me of a lost love. |

Actually, Sheryl Crow had very little to do with writing the music to this song. While that is true about the lyrics, the music was written by Kevin Gilbert of Toy Matinee, the band that he and Crow were in together prior to her solo release. |
