Eddie Rabbitt – Drivin' My Life Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, this was a really catchy, feel good song. Loved hearing it as a kid. |
Al Stewart – Year Of The Cat Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Absolutely incredible song. I agree with Zinbob, there is exual symbolism in the entire song. I have no idea why a song of this caliber isn't played on the radio constantly. |
Mother Love Bone – Stardog Champion Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Patriotic?? An anthem?? Are you kidding me? He is obviously showing disdain for his father that was in the military. His negative feelings towards his father show up as a common theme in quite a few of his songs. You think "a war time hero/the kind that money buys" is him being patriotic? He's practically spitting on his dad's grave with that comment. |
Tears for Fears – Everybody Wants to Rule the World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I think this song is about homosexuality, heres some examples "When they do I'll be right behind you." IE right BEHIND you in your ahole! "Turn your back on Mother Nature" IE its not natural to connect to males together via penis and ahole! "All for freedom and for pleasure" , of course this means ahole pleasure Point proven" -Riotpack Spoken like a true homosexual who despises gays because they fear their own homosexuality and the consequences of coming out of the closet. Seek help. That clearly isn't what the song is about. |
Tears for Fears – Everybody Wants to Rule the World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Powerful song. The person who said its meaningless not only is a complete moron, but probably doesn't even have a soul. Its not really about "ruling the world" per se, but ruling yourself and the people around you. Basically, the desire(and sin) of greed, and wanting everything in life, even though most of those things are worthless. This is an emotional song. |
Tears for Fears – Head Over Heels Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This has to be one of the best bands of the 80's. Like someone else said, way ahead of their time. This is an incredible song. This song has made me cry on many occasions. The song is basically about an extremely shallow relationship, and wishing for something more that just isn't there, or wont ever be there. I think the line "It's hard to be man when there's a gun in your hand" is him symbolizing his absolute frustration concerning his lover, and he doesn't know how far he'll allow his desperation to go, which is why the next line "Oh I feel so..." is left open: He cant truly express how he feels with words. |
Mariah Carey – Honey Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Mariah's most bold song ever. She's clearly singing about cum. Had this song not been so catchy and instantly went up the charts, it would have definitely been controversial. |
M.I.A. – 10 Dollar Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Another great song from M.I.A. This woman is a genius. This song is basically about a young prostitute who is only looking out for herself, and doesn't care about the carnage she leaves behind. |
M.I.A. – Bucky Done Gun Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You people are hilarious. Read way too much into things. It isn't about politics. Its clearly about sex and violence, which is a common theme in most of her work. Even in songs dealing with terrorism or violence(like this song), sex is the main theme of the lyrics. Which is one of the things that makes her a genius. She doesn't hold back whatsoever. She says how she feels, and doesn't give a damn about the consequences. |
Liz Phair – Supernova Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Probably the only pop song in the world about a man who shoots large amounts of cum. I was always surpised this song wasn't a massive hit. I think Phair's "in your face" lyrics must have been a turn off to the mainstream. Had she toned the lyrics down a little bit in this song, it may have been a huge craze and went to number 1. The music is extremely catchy. Surprised a producer didn't notice the potential of this and have her rework the lyrics a little bit. |
Veruca Salt – Seether Lyrics | 17 years ago |
About pussy?? Are you kidding me? Its the exact opposite. Its obviously about a young woman's infatuation with a man's cock and his cum. Seether is neither big nor small. Seether is the center of it all. I tried to rock her in my cradle, I tried to knock her out, I tried to cram her back in my mouth, yeah. Keep her down, boiling water, Keep her down, what a lovely daughter. Oh, she is not born like other girls, But I know how to conceive her. Oh, she may not look like other girls, But she's a snarl-toothed seether, seether! Can't fight the seether I can't see her till I'm foaming at the mouth, yeah. =============== Those lines right there tell the story. Never understood all the confusion over this song back when it came out. Me and my other girlfriends in college at the time knew what she meant. I always hated how Veruca Salt would never come clean about the true meaning of this song. |
Soundgarden – Hands All Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is Cornell's finest moment lyrically. |
Elastica – Line Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Obviously about the world of groupies. This is one of Elastica's best songs. |
Elastica – Vaseline Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Nonsense?? The song is clearly about her having sex with a guy that has a large dick, and using vaseline as lubricant. Who cares if the inspiration is from something that occured in the bathroom. Doesn't cheapen the song at all. As I mentioned under a different song, alot of Elastica's lyrics deal with sex, even though its not "in your face". |
Elastica – Car Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Definitely about sex in cars. I love the line "Up my street to nowhere/You know what detours are". Justine clearly had a wild youth. Although not overtly, most of Elastica's songs deal with sex in some capacity. |
Elastica – Brighton Rock Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song. Its basically just a simple song about young love/lust, and the care free attitude of youth. When writing this, Justine was probably reminiscing about some summer fling in her youth. |
Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Funny how everyone looks for a hidden meaning in this beautiful song. Plant has mentioned several times in the past how the song doesn't really mean anything. He was just trying to come up with lyrics/vocals to accompany the incredible music in the song. This style of creating music plagued other incredible songs in the Zep discography, most notably "No Quarter". Same thing with the classic Beatles song "Come Together". Its a damn good song, but the song means nothing. |
Heart – Dog And Butterfly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I always felt this song was about a girl coming to terms with being sexually abused as a child. One of the reasons the song always made me feel so sad. |
