I absolutely love this song, and for anyone who lives in Houston, like I do, and hasn't seen these guys perform live yet, you don't know what you are missing, and for those of you who dont live here, check the bands myspace for tour dates and locations. I absolutely love Kipp's voice, it has the melodic sense to it, that makes me melt everytime I hear him sing

Boys Like Girls – Up Against The Wall Lyrics 17 years ago
The first time I heard this song was right after my boyfriend broke up with me....we'd been going out for almost 2 years and I was absolutely in love with him. When I heard the "Who said that it's better to have loved and lost? I wish I would've never loved at all part" I had to pull the car over because I emotionally couldn't drive anymore

Boys Like Girls – Me, You, and My Medication (Demo) Lyrics 17 years ago
me and my friend were listening to this song and joking around about the "medication" part, we're like they never specify what kind of medication. is it, Ridalin? Tylenol? Nyquil? PeptoBismol? Codeine? Vicadin?

Kids in the Way – Head Over Heels Lyrics 17 years ago
YouresoIntricate: here's the reason they chose to cover this song....

(Remember when that one bully snorted a line off the other bullys palm and sneered at the child molester masquerading as a motivational speaker as he was introduced to the only two decent teachers in school who were understandably preoccupied by the uncomfortably sexual gyrations of the prepubescent dance troupe? Sure you do. Its the trippy introductory montage to Donnie Darko, and its soundtracked by the lush melancholia of Tears for Fears Head Over Heels. Like the rest of us, Kids in the Way frontman David Pelsue got a major I Love the 80s rush from the sequence; unlike the rest of us, he acted on it.
I think every record we've ever made, even when we were just an indie band making crappy demos on our own, we always talked about covering a Tears for Fears song, he recalls. When you listen to a record or you watch a movie and you have those moments where youre like, That was just amazing, that was one of those moments for us. We were like, Weve gotta do Head Over Heels. Thats the song were doing.) - from the bands page on PureVolume.com

Kids in the Way – Head Over Heels Lyrics 17 years ago
Head over Heels is one of my fav songs from the 80's and Kids in the Way is my fav band, so when I bought the apparitions of melody cd and saw they had made a cover of the song, I was beside myself and although I love tears for fears I personally think the Kids in the Way version is better

12 Stones – The Way I Feel Lyrics 17 years ago
ok i found this on a video from the band, it was sort of an intro talking about the song, before it showed a live performance of it, "We wrote the song to kind of generalize everyday life...No matter who you are or what you've been through, we all have good days and bad days and it's not those good or bad days that make you as a person, its about how you go about dealing with them"

Kids in the Way – Scars That Save Lyrics 17 years ago
I did this song as a human video for Fine Arts competition about a year ago, and at the time I'd been going through sort of a rough patch and on the day of the competition, I was in the middle of the first verse and all the emotions from the song and what i had been going through hit me. The performance becoming more personal than it had been before

Kids in the Way – Burt Rutan Lyrics 17 years ago
the part that was left out...(thanks for posting it rockinallnight) is my favorite part of the entire song. It tells us that we even though we split ourselves into petty categories, such as our political p.o.v's and our race that we really are just a nation that is together in our need for God

House of Heroes – Serial Sleepers Lyrics 17 years ago
I absolutely love the "Rise up oh sons of God
And sing the song that hides behind your Teeth
These ears have longed to hear
All night long waiting for" part it reminds me that if we as Christians don't live out our lives for God that those people who are longing to hear or see what God is really about won't get that opportunity, because we've become complacent

Everyday Sunday – Hanging On Lyrics 17 years ago
this song is very self-explanatory...

the first verse is about how when we get into those situations where we don't want to fall backwards, but we often times are trying to get out of it on our own, that we forget to call on God.

the chorus is about everyone is longing to be found by some one or something, mostly to feel accepted, but we need to hang onto God and give everything to him

the 2nd verse is about how we come to God with everything we are and have, but really have nothing to give and we keep trying to get closer to God because he is what we truly want

the bridge: is basically talking about how when we are in the presence of God, we bring all of our triumphs and failures because he is the one that can help us...

So in a summary, to me, Hanging On, is about coming to God and hanging onto him in the midst of everything, good or bad
