| Plumb – Real Life Fairytale Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| it doesn't necessarily have to be about Jesus, but that's just what I got from it. it could very well be applied to any relationship. | |

| Kutless – Million Dollar Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about how material possessions are squat and don't add up to much. Just because you have all these fancy things, like an expensive car, if you don't have Jesus, then you have nothing. He threw his life away to get ahead...but ahead to where? I think it's also talking about how he might've thrown his family away to get ahead as well. But now he realizes... "the grass isn't greener on this lonely side" | |
| Kutless – This Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about how someone he looked up to for their Christian example has done a 180...they turned their back on all they knew was right, and they turned their back on God. But I think that he's saying that even though he looks up to them and follows their example, he's not gonna follow them in the bad stuff that they're doing... "no walking away" | |
| Alanis Morissette – Fear Of Bliss Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I dunno, when I read the lyrics, I kinda get the feeling that she's talking about an eating disorder. She's afraid of her "bigness" - even though she may be tiny, she sees herself as fat. She "sabotages" herself - this could be a reference to purging. The "golden" and "glowing" could refer to her skin - people who have an eating disorder don't have very healthy skin...it's cracked and dry and stuff. I think I might have read somewhere that Alanis Morissette had an eating disorder before. But I dunno. That was just my take on it. |

I think that this song is supposed to be about her relationship with Jesus, about how He's her Prince and her everything...just like in the fairytales! Only He's real! And when she talks about how she's the girl He's always fighting for, it's like He's fighting the devil for her soul.... just like the good guy fights the bad guy in the fairytales!! But God is more than just a fairytale hero...He's real, He's there, He's just waiting for you to love Him in return. It's the perfect relationship!! "We have the love people dream about" |

| Kansas – Dust In The Wind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
umm...I might be looking too far into this, BUT! ... He says "all we are is dust in the wind" and he's talking about how we just blow away.... but he goes on to say that "nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky." dust = earth wind = sky so the dust (as individual particles) doesn't last forever, but put them together to get the big picture, to see the whole, and it lasts forever. same thing with the wind and sky. kinda like saying that by ourselves we are nothing, but together we're invincible. ??? did that even make sense ??? (other people laughed at me when I tried to explain what I meant, so I really hope I'm getting my point across... and even if you do laugh I'm still sticking by what I say! so HA!) but yeah, does anyone else see it that way? |

| Apologetix – How You Rewind Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Parody of Nickelback's How You Remind Me.... It's about how loving God is and how He's willing to forgive us of our sins. Even when it seems like no matter how hard we try, we always mess up and end up sinning...He'll still forgive us. And He's always with us, even when we mess up. "Each time I'm mistaken / thanks to You Lord I'm not forsaken" |

| Apologetix – Choose Your Daddy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
(Parody of Toby Keith's Who's Your Daddy?) This song is about how you have to choose your God. Who do you place your faith in? If you don't choose God, you choose Satan.... And if you choose to remain undecided, well, that's choosing Satan. But God loves you and wants you to choose Him as your God. "He's God Almighty, just say alrighty!" |

| Apologetix – Smooth Grandmama Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
lol, this song makes me laugh, especially the part where he says, "You've been hit by, you've been struck by, a smooth Grandmama" It's a parody of Michael Jackson's song Smooth Criminal. It's about a Grandma who goes out and prays that her family will get saved and eventually some of them do. This song is nifty...I really like it. :D |

| Three Days Grace – Never Too Late Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Well, I know I'm basically restating what lots of other people have already said, but oh well, I'll say it again... I really really really love this song. I've heard from a couple of different places that it's about Adam's friend who told him that he didn't want to live anymore. So basically, it's Adam telling him that life's still worth living, even if things aren't going the way you want them to, it's never too late to turn things around. And the video? It starts out with a little girl, all happy and stuff, with her Mom and Dad. Then it shows her as an adult being led by two nurses to a bed where they strap her down. Why do they strap her down? It could be because she's crazy, or she attempted suicide or something. But then it goes back to show her childhood, and there's a guy with his hand on her shoulder. I don't know who the guy is, but I don't think it's her father. I got the impression that this "mystery man" raped her or sexually abused her in some way or another. That's why she's in the hospital as a grown up, maybe she attempted suicide because of what happened when she was younger. Also, the straps change to the guy's hands because she still feels him there, he's still holding her down and preventing her from living her life. The band-aids over her parents eyes could be representative of the fact that they don't know about what the guy did to her. And when there's black handprints all over her and the room, the camera pans back and you can see that the guy has black paint all over his hands. Now, I'm not too sure about the whole "angel in black" thing, but I think I might have seen the word God on him? Maybe I just need to get my eyes checked, but.... It could represent how God has helped her overcome what happened to her in her past. When she's in the hospital and has the straps/guy's hands restraining her, and the feathers start to fall, the restraints disappear...that could also be how God helped her through. So, the song as relating to the music video, could be Adam singing to someone about how it's not too late to get their life back after something that traumatic has happened to them. "This world will never be / what I expected" Who expects to get raped as a child? Who wants that haunting them as they're growing up? "No one will ever see / this side reflected" The girl never told anyone, she tried to keep it hidden. Her parents couldn't see it; that's why they had the band-aids over their eyes. "The world we knew / won't come back" She's had something taken from her, something that she can't get back. But then the chorus goes on to offer hope, saying that it's never too late to get your life back, to start living again. Beautiful song. |

| Oh, and another thing...the song is called "A Cowboy's Got to Ride," not "A Cowboy's Just Got to Ride." | |
| Chris LeDoux – You Just Can't See Him From The Road Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Yes, there are still real cowboys out there. And no, they're not those people you see with the tight leather "cowboy" pants with the legs tucked into alligator skin boots with lime green tops and a pink plastic spray-painted hat with a feather sticking out of the band and some pansy imitation cowboy shirt with flowers or bucking horses on it and a huge honkin' belt buckle studded with rhinestones. They are what we call "queer folk." No offense to any of you out there reading this and wondering how I know what you wear. *cough cough* so yeah, there are still real cowboys out there, but they're not like the kind you might imagine....they don't go out and dance every weekend, they're not rich, they're not in the spotlight as much as they used to be, but they're still out there. They still live the same way they did generations ago, they still live by the same moral rules. GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!! |

| Chris LeDoux – A Cowboy's Just Got To Ride Lyrics | 18 years ago |

A COWBOY'S GOT TO RIDE!!! The meaning is as simple as that. Pretty self-explanatory, I'd say... But yeah. People (his girlfriend, parents, etc.) want him to settle down, but he can't, cuz a cowboy's got to ride. No matter how tough things get, a cowboy's got to ride. GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!! |

| Pillar – Sometimes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Wow, Pillar is such an awesome band, it's too bad not more of their songs have been commented on...anyways...I think this song is about an addiction, perhaps drugs or alcohol or cutting or something. -------------------- I can't stop thinking about it I don't like living without it So please don't take, take, take it away So find another way ----- This is just where he's talking about how addicting it is, he's craving it, he can't stop thinking about it, and he doesn't want anyone to interfere with it. ---------- Things get so complicated Frustration's overrated Somebody please don't take, take, take it away There's got to be a better way For us to find our way around But for now we'll just have to say ----- When the going gets tough, he turns to his habit/addiction for stress relief, even though he knows there's a better way. ---------- Sometimes I lose my mind Sometimes I don't know why And I don't know if I can find a way around To work it out tonight Sometimes I lose my mind Sometimes I don't know why And I don't know if I can find a way around To work it out tonight ----- Here he's just saying that sometimes his vision gets clouded or whatever and he just sorta loses his mind and falls back into his old habits...He doesn't know another way to deal with his problems... ---------- All of these weak reactions All start with stupid actions Somebody please take, take, take it away So find another way ----- He may see, hear, experience, etc., something "triggering" and his automatic reaction is this habit of his, no matter how small or trivial this "stimulant" is... ---------- So long I've concentrated Emotions overstated So please don't take, take, take it away There's got to be a better way For us, for us to find our way around But for now we'll just have to say ----- Here he could just be saying that even the simplest of things can make him start this habit of his again. ---------- Things can get so complicated I'm frustrated There's confusion in my head Things can get so complicated I'm frustrated There's confusion in my head Its times these that I need to stop and think Make all of me start to fit the missing link Down on my knees It's my mind that's leaving me God help me please, to make sense of this ----- And finally, here's where it all comes to a head, where push comes to shove, and maybe he even breaks, but he realizes that he desperately needs to change and cries out to God for help. -------------------- ...At least that's what I get from all this. Any other thoughts? |
