| Pearl Jam – Tremor Christ Lyrics

I've always interpreted it similarly to Cherub Rock as an attack on Christianity. The "tremors" were the tales of a great man named Jesus Christ, but in Vedder's mind they turned to "quakes" regarding just how great he was. He's acknowledging that Jesus may have been a great man...just not the Messiah. |

How did it take until 2007 for someone to comment on this amazing song? Maybe because it's probably one of Local H's most straightforward -- about a dude who's in total crisis mode and may even be losing touch with sanity. The pacing of this song complements the paranoid nature of its lyrics brilliantly, I must say. |

| Local H – No Problem Lyrics

I think Stoney's got most of it, but I think there's more to it than that -- just listen to the way Scott sings "it's no problem" near the end of the song. He sounds frustrated, making me think the words he sings are what he wishes were true, but actually aren't. He wants to believe he's over his ex, but he really isn't. |

On the "Live in '05" album, Scott plainly says, "This is a song for the Midwest!" So that should pretty much clear all that up.
I love the song, but the knock on Christianity has always seemed a little out of place to me. It's not what the rest of the song is about, nor is it spoken of beyond two lines. What does "your heaven is a lie" have to do with hating songs about California and New York? Am I not seeing something here? |

| Local H – Keep Your Girlfriend Lyrics

I think there's more to it than wanting to steal a girlfriend, simply because "this is [has?] nothing to do with your girlfriend" at the end of the song. Makes me think "girlfriend" is a metaphor for something else that's important to whoever the song is directed at. I'd guess drugs, but since he already has "a couple hits of ecstasy," I doubt it. Anyone have any ideas as to what the "girlfriend" could actually be? |

Amazing lyrics about feeling like nothing despite trying to be something. |

Ha! Until I read the lyrics, I always thought he was saying "I wanna stab you in your face," not "there's a statue of your face." If these lyrics are indeed correct, that totally changes my perception of the song's tone for the past nearly three years! |
