Hahah, strippers, huh...well, whatever you wanna think. Personally, I hate rap, this shit comes on at least twice in my Drafting class on the radio. It's about being a famous rapper with a quarter million dollar lamborghini, and that gets chicks to let them "possibly bend you over" meaning, fuck. Can't see how you could see it any other way. |

| Steve Vai – Voodoo Acid Lyrics

This song is about "going on a spiritual journey" according to Vai, but he states it doesn't necissarily have to be drug-induced. Although these images are consistant with many trip-reports of people on LSD-25 lysergic acid. |

| Steve Vai – Under It All Lyrics

According to the booklet included with Real Illusions: pt.1 Reflections...this Under It All, is actually a church that gets Willed into existance in the town where the story takes place. When they go inside they look into a fountain (i think, don't have my booklet here), and it shows them their true desires; under it all. This song is about the characters revealing their true desires, many of which highlight the vulgarity and insensitivity of human-kind. Vai asks us to see who WE are, under it all...this is probably the Final song in the Real Illusions-Fire Garden story, just due to the revelations and feel of it. The songs on RI:R don't represent the true order of the story. |

To me this song reflects the attitude on Vai's song Here & Now. It's about living life while you can live it, the Genocide can be killing the planet, or all human's eventual death. |

| Steve Vai – Firewall Lyrics

This song represents unrequitted love, the Firewall is something that keeps unwanted things out, in this case, the love that the speaker is giving is unwanted by the recipient, which is why he runs into her firewall. He wants her to love him "Maybe will and grace will replace your faaith and we can embrace, You'll never get to know me unless you let me touch your face." Medusa's Home seems to mean the non-consequential glance that the girl gives to him, it turns him to stone, not a very likeable state...! (metaphorically) |

| Steve Vai – Damn You Lyrics

As part of the concept album Fire Garden, and Real Illusions as well, (these two, and in the future, more, albums ARE connected, Vai said so himself) I can't interperet this song, as Real Illusions isn't finished yet, the story is in pieces, not in order either.
But as a stand alone song, I think the narrator is singing about HIMSELF, and how the choices that he makes are annoying him. He wishes he didn't act or be the way he is. "I notice you're happy only when you're miserable..." and "my mind is better off dead." |

This song means alot to me because I hardly tell my father or brother how much they mean to me or how much they've changed my life. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today if I had no brother, or a different one, or father for that matter. This song is all about that love for your family. And saying it to them. |

| Steve Vai – Aching Hunger Lyrics

This song "aching hunger" is about the aching hunger one feels towards another when they are in love, and in this case, the one being loved, not the speaker, doesn't return the love, and thats why he "prays you inherit me". |

This is one complicated and long song, but I get alot of War motifs coming out of it. The lines about defending america, and Harvest of Souls seems to represent that to me. |

This song, to me, represents a girl, the singer, and the un-named target of her affection. The line "Like a cloud...felt us connect and ran for shelter" seems like the girl and most likely a guy, just happened to meet, but it was love at first sight, but the man, (or woman!) doesn't return her love, which is why she has an "increase in desire you'll catch me...". The next verse "Like a love ushered in by bliss..." she figures out she is smitten with this other person, and the line that now comes "Now you, cannot affect me..." seems like she's saying, 'nah, maybe I don't love this person, they aren't taking up my only thoughts...' but then she still realises that she still loves him/her. Thats what I get out of listening to this over the past year or so (not constantly :P ) |
