| Marianas Trench – Push Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I thought this song was about sex at first too (Faking it and coming over everything?! lmao). But yeah, I'm pretty sure it's about heroin. Unless this song has a secret dirty meaning. Which would be awesome. xD | |
| Marianas Trench – Sicker Things Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure the correct lyrics are: "Feel misleaded, mind mistreated" "I hate the way that I say that you'll stay When I know that I don't give a fuck about it anyway" Definately about an addiction but I think it's emphasizing that it's something that he thought he was over and now it's coming back. "I'm sicker than I thought I'm fighting what I fought I'm right back where I started from" The thought he was almost better but it ended up he was still addicted. Now he has to start the treatment all over again. "Stay awake, Feeling cold and tired" Drug withdrawl symptoms, insomnia. |

| Marianas Trench – Alibis Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Another beautiful song. I agree it could be about an eating disorder since the band has several other songs about it, but I also think it might be about self harm, and the last part seems to be about addictions in general. "From the scrapes and bruises to the familiar abuses" - Self harm isn't all cutting. The people who really have a problem and don't want people finding out try to hide it. The easiest way it to to not use a knife/razorblade but instead using your fingernails or something abrasive. This gives your a scrape instead of a deep gash and it's a lot easier to lie about than a cut that obviosly was self inflicted. Also, some people who harm themselves don't even draw blood. They just give themselves bruises. Even easier to come up with an excuse for. I think the "Familiar abuses" line is talking about cutting using a blade. "I'll kick and scream But it never changes anything" - He tries to use other means to get his emotions out but they don't work, so he results in cutting. "I could spill my guts out" Again, could be referring to an eating disorder but it could also mean he's spilling his blood. "This is not the man I hoped to be and I'm just trying to stop the bleeding" - Could be taken literally, like he's tring to stop his cuts from bleeding or he's trying to repair himself emotionally. "I don't know how to word it I just started to deserve it" - A lot of people who cut do it because of self-hate. They believe they deserve the pain. "and all my faces are alibis, and me I'm half the man I wanted to be" - Not 100% sure about this part. Maybe he only cuts in places no one ever really sees. (Thighs, chest, stomach, ect.) That way his arms have no cuts and he has an alibi for his cuts because no one ever sees them. Also he's 'half' the man he wanted to be because half of his body is normal and the other half is damaged. Or you could take it figuratively like he's disappointed in himself. "And I still taste that sickness and it makes me crazy without it at best But I'm in the same place i used to be but i'm trying harder not to be" - This could be about addictions in general. He doesn't want to depend on it but it's harder to quit than he though. No matter how hard he tries he doesn't seem to be getting any better. "Don't want it, don't get it I know you won't regret it" - Basically saying, don't start because you'll get hooked on it. "Don't surface, don't surface, And I feel so damn worthless" - He doesn't want to come out with his problem because he's ashamed of it. Could also mean worthless as if he thinks he ruined his life/body. I probably over-analyzed that a bit... |

| Marianas Trench – Feeling Small Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I agree that it's about bulimia and I also think it's about feeling like you can't control anything, not even yourself. Most of it has been explained already but this part: This one's of you Certain of cancer I think it's comparing bulimia to cancer not just because it's a disease but also because just like eating disorders, even once you get better there's still a chance of it coming back. So I think what it's saying basically is that the disease is something he'll have to live with for the rest of his life. |

| Anti-Flag – This Is The End (For You My Friend) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a great song. It's catchy but its got a good meaning too. I agree with everthing said so far. About how it's about ads on tv and in magazines making everyone lose their self confidence because they don't feel they meet up to the standards. I also think it might be about people who gets cosmetic surgeries and it completely messes up their life because something goes wrong. That's what the "I can't forgive; I won't forget" line makes me think of. Just what I think though. Also, since everyone's talking about sell-outs here's my two cents. If a band is a sell-out because they're making more money than they were before can it really be used as an insult? Do you honestly think that it makes a difference? It's like your boss offering you a raise. Say you were making $8/h and they offer you $10/h. You'd still be doing exactly the same thing only you got more money for it. I know I'd say yes. But then lets say one of the other employees gets the raise even though you've been working there much longer. You'd probably be jealous of them. So what I think is when people call a band sell-outs because they're making more money it's just because they're jealous of that band's success. Which is pathetic really. Hopefully this made at least a little sense ._. And besides; it could be a lot worse. It's not like they're on the covers of all the teenie magazines :x |

| My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| What the FUCK is up with this song. Were they stoned or something when they wrote this. I bet a 10 year old could re-write this song and do it better. Hell, I bet I could even write a song better than this and my songs seriously suck. This is worse than the black parade song. I know these guys can make good music, just look at some of the songs off bullets. I've lost all my respect for this band, they're nothing like they were before. Maybe if they'd actually taken their time on this album it would've turned out better but I think the whole thing is just a mess. | |
| Papa Roach – Getting Away With Murder Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
One of my favorite songs by them. I've never been entirely sure what it's about though. Initially I thought it was about suicide. Your killing someone - yourself - so technically your commiting murder. But your also kinda... dead. So there's no punishment. But I agree it could be political too. It's one of those songs where it's just anyone's guess. It could have more than 1 meaning. And on an off topic note: AFI is NOT emo; they're punk. Well maybe they are emo now but they were a very good band before decemberunderground. All the good punk bands have gone emo except for a very small few :/ It makes me sad. But lemme just say, if you consider afi emo then you can't say that MCR is not because ALL the guys from that band look emo except for the one guitarist and maybe the drummer. Also, it's stuipid to base the entire band off one song. Miss Murder is the wrost song I've heard by them, most of their songs are much better. |

| Papa Roach – The World Around You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Besterest song on the album :P Or maybe not, I keep changing my mind. Almost all of them are good. I think it's about a break-up. That's the only thing I can get from the lyrics. The first verse is I think a guy is seeing a girl but then she falls in love with another guy. So, "Somebody falls in love, somebody breaks a heart" The girl is the one who fell in love and the guy got his heart broken. I'm not entirely sure what the chorus means though, any ideas? |

| Papa Roach – Done With You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this song is about when someone gets so addicted to alcohol that it ruins their life. Then they finally manage to get control over their addiction but by that time the damage is already done. "I've got a bad liver and a broken heart" I think that means that the alcohol is messing up his body because alcholics usually have liver problems. And the broken heart part is because the people he loves can't even stand to be around him because he's drunk so much. btw, I love this song :D |

| Papa Roach – Roses On My Grave Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Not my favorite song off the album. It's not terrible or anything but it just wasn't as catchy as most of the other songs. What did the lyrics say instead of woman before they were changed? It's kinda hard to mess is up because he says it pretty clearly. | |
| The Offspring – Come Out And Play Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| My mom always says this song reminds her of me and my brother because we fight a lot. She almost wouldn't let me babysit him cause she was worried someone would get killed :P But I agree, it's about gang violence. | |
| 3 Doors Down – Loser Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's definately about a drug addiction This is getting old, I can't break these chains that I hold He's the only one with the power to 'break the chains' and end the addiction but he can't bring himself to do it even though he knows what he's doing is wrong. I suppose it would make sense as a song about being pushed around but addiction makes a lot more sense to me. |

| Billy Talent – Nothing To Lose Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I went to the BT concert on the 29th and although it doesn't give much insight to the meaning I think we've already established what this song is about. Anyways, right before they played this song Ben was like "I want you guys to do something and I don't do this very often but everyone hold up your lighter or cell phone." and the whole place lit up just like that. It was so cool because it was all the blue from the cells mixed with the lighters. We were really far up so the whole crowd kinda lit up below us. And he was all "No matter what happens your never ever, EVER alone. We got your back." Then he started to sing Nothing to Lose. My fave part of the entire night even if I didn't like the song as much as I loved some of the others. And everyone kept their lighters and stuff up during the song and it was so cool. So basically I think BT made this song so people who were depressed or thinking of suicide would know they aren't alone and no matter what there will always be someone who cares about them even if they don't think anyone does. |

| Megadeth – She-Wolf Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The first time I heard this song I thought it might be about a prostitute but these explanations make a lot more sense *is stuipid* | |
| Alice Cooper – Gail Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song kind of disturbed me the first time I heard it; especially the dog part. I think basically the song is about thinking of how you'll be remembered when you die. It's also got obvious ties to both Chop, Chop, Chop and Roses on White Lace. In CCC he repeatedly screams Gail at the end of the song while in RoWL there is the following line: "With your heart and your mouth open wide" which is linked to the knife the her chest in this song. I could probably go more in depth but I'll let other people try to figure out the meaning. | |
| Alice Cooper – Prince of Darkness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I cannot believe that there was only one song from Raise Your First and Yell on here; it's his best album in my opinion. As for the song meaning I think it's pretty obvious if you just read the lyrics, it's about the devil. | |
