| Edguy – Walk On Fighting Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Don't look ever back....hahahaha...I love Edguy. | |
| Judas Priest – Let Us Prey Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's supposed to be listed as Let Us Prey/Call For The Priest and Raw Deal is just supposed to be Raw Deal. Also, I have encountered a few times where the intro to Here Come the Tears is actually a piece at the end of Raw Deal instead of being part of the actual song. |
| Judas Priest – Beyond The Realms Of Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I maintain the Beyond the Realms of Death is the greatest song ever written. | |
| Judas Priest – Raw Deal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If you feel even gayer, must mean you're gay to begin with. Not a bad song, an odd one for Priest. It almost doesn't even sound like Judas Priest. |
| Type O Negative – Halloween in Heaven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I wonder who sings the: "Of course I cried when I heard they’d died And took a part of me same time gave From beyond the grave became what was to be" She has a nice voice...brings something to the song. |
| Strapping Young Lad – Detox Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It sounds like they're saying "Hey, you know." But that can't really have much relevance to the song...I'm sure you could link it. | |
| Megadeth – Mary Jane Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I for one refuse to believe this song is about Marijuana. It's too good a song for it to be belittled by being about weed. Come on, Dave Mustaine has a fuckload more integrity than that. It's too thin...there's a lot more to it than pot. |
| Megadeth – Sweating Bullets Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about Dissociative identity disorder. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – D-Generation X Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Okay, everyone who says this song is by RATM and is a reference to "the punk band "Generation X""....is Wrong. It's a song written for Wrestling team D-Generation X and performed by The Chris Warren Band. And to Leblanc...Right, fuckin' on! HBK/HHH, best goddamn tag team in Wrestling history. |
| Dio – I Speed At Night Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It would be pretty cool...as long as it wasn't a Christopher Lee style vampire...a Keifer Sutherland style vamp would work though. | |
| Dio – All The Fools Sailed Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
And people say Dio's lyrics suck?! Fuck that, Dio is a very smart man who can write a damn good lyric. It's only cynical fuckwit critics that bad mouth him. |
| Demons and Wizards – Terror Train Lyrics | 18 years ago |
You know, Rock Hawk, I think you may be right. I just checked it out then and if you're talking on the guy standing on that balcony in some shots. The mystery guy hasn't got long hair, just like Ripper. Considering Ripper sings for Iced Earth now I think it's entirely possible they just did it for a bit of fun. |
| Demons and Wizards – Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree, they did it well but not nearly as well as Zeppelin had already done it. Personally I believe Immigrant Song was too short. |
| Iron Maiden – Dance Of Death Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It says he'd only had one drink... | |
| Dio – King of Rock and Roll Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| hmmm, it's a good explanation and I'm not trying to contradict you but I just see it as a fun song about a fictional "King Of Rock & Roll" | |
| Dio – Straight Through The Heart Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well, this is a no brainer. It's about taking a kick to the teeth, not literally, but as in facing something and coming out on the bad end of it. Usually you're left with just the lingering sense of failure until you get over it. |
| Dio – Invisible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with you, it does seem to deal with people having problems but I think the running away is more accurate. But in the last verse, It could be about Ronnie's rise to the stage. He released a single or EP, whatever you call them at a fairly young age. Plus he took some kicks to the teeth when he left Rainbow and he had to try and pick it all up again. |
| Dio – Strange Highways Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Wow, nobody said anything about Strange Highways? One of Dio's best songs. The way I interpret it is that someone who is dying, one their death bed, or whatever is kind of looking back and reminiscing and also wondering. Wondering, what was it for? I have all these experiences but what does it add up to? The Strange Highways seem to represent all of life's person defining experiences and that they're like traveling down a mental highway. Well, that's my two cents, I've never been too good at picking out song meanings anyway. |
| Dio – Evil Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Damn Trapezoid, you always seem to tell it right. And, no, I am not being sarcastic. But I was thinking, the heavy metal symbol Dio popularized, he got from his Grandmother who did it to ward off the "Evil Eye" Perhaps, he's paying homage to her their as a little side thing. Not trying to contradict Trapezoids explanation because what he says about Dio's songs is always better than what others say. |
| Dio – The Last In Line Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Damn right. That should silence all those spiteful bastard critics and journalists I saw on that program dissing Dio. Making fun of THIS song, one of his best. Most people think Dio's lyrics are rubbish but those people are just looking for a way to put him down. |

| Uriah Heep – Gypsy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is amazing because it was ahead of it's time. It was heavy and it was complex and it was dark. Apart from Black Sabbath there wasn't much dark music going around at the time. Just by hearing the guitar riff at the start you cannot tell it was recorded in 1970. I played it for this guy I know and I asked "Does this sound like it was recorded in 1970?" He wouldn't have been able to pick it. It's a very advanced song for it's day. |
| Uriah Heep – The Wizard Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well, the song makes reference to the "protagonist" wandering. So, The Wizard could be this person that the protagonist has met along the way and has shared some drinks and swapped some tales with and since he's been wandering for so long he's found so much life and interest in this "Wizard". So I think the song is about how you can meet someone who will capture your interest and someone you can have a drink with after so long without meeting any interesting people. |

| Judas Priest – Hell Is Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The way I see it is, someone who is outcasted and hated by people because of who the subject person is. Then, the subject person finds something, he may become a satanist and start worshipping the devil or perhaps join a cult that might not have anything to do with hell and he finds acceptance, amongst others like him, hence "hell is home to me". Then his "status has changed" and now he has the power to pay them back for all their social degredation. But that's just my view. |
| Uriah Heep – Circle of Hands Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I did as you said Lizard_Queen, I turned my lights off, turned my really good headphones up full and just sat. An experience to blow anyone away! It's a great song, wonderful to listen to. The temp changes, lyrics, everything about this song. |
| Uriah Heep – Real Turned On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think the title says it all | |
| Uriah Heep – Walking In Your Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song could be interpretted as part one of the story of "Shadows Of Grief". A person, stuck in a bad relationship and is locked in, walking in their partners shadow and being controlled by them and the only time they get a break is when they're seperate. The person stuck in the relationship can't get away because whenever they start to try and break away and stand up for themselves they're running back because this abusive partner lies their way back into the person's heart. | |
| Uriah Heep – Shadows of Grief Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| My interpretation of this song is that a man or perhaps a woman have been stuck in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship and are finally fed up with it and have found the strength to tell their significant other to get f**ked. | |
| Uriah Heep – Return to Fantasy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I am going to post what the song means to me. Not the meaning intended, if my interpretation is what the song is about, then it's a conincidence. To me, Return To Fantasy is about how humans aren't perfect but are trying to be, but don't know that their ascension to the afterlife or heaven will grant them perfection (Like a hungry poet who doesn't know he is close to perfection). The Return To Fantasy part can come from how the afterlife is something that we don't know much about, it's a fantasy fueled by belief. "We can return to the land of the good and the kind", going to heaven where everything is perfect and the inhabitants are god and kind people. "Travelling faster than lightning, closer than ever before" can be how they're ascending, they're closer than they've ever been to the afterlife and it's secrets. I know there is more to it, but I've laid down the essentials. |
