Yeah, so ABOUT the meaning of the song... What exactly is the tension he's speaking of? o_O |

| Hehehe...I guess I was saying what you said, but I gave some background to it. :) | |
| Relient K – Pleading the Fifth Lyrics | 18 years ago |

There's an unproven theory that Booth wasn't shot by the police; a look-alike double agent, James William Boyd, was shot instead. The theory goes on to say that the government did lots of stuff to cover it up, blah, blah, but the point is that this little song is sort of like a reversal of roles or something. That an Abraham Lincoln look-alike died instead of the real dude. Phew, that was quite long and boring. Kudos to any who actually read my paraphrase of the theory. :) |

It's actually "So grey in the back sipping 'gnac can hear He's knockin' down the shots like Bill Lambeer" |

| Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To me, the chorus sums up the meaning of the song. It kinda says, "Have you ever felt utterly, desperately alone? Me too." | |
| Tally Hall – Two Wuv Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Hah, this is a silly song. I laughed the first time I heard the chorus. | |
| Relient K – My Girl's Ex-Boyfriend Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Aw, what I cute song. I love Relient K. | |
| Tally Hall – Taken for a Ride Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I don't think this song is "just a bunch of words." The lonely paperbacks line is actually a sentence. It connects with the line after. It's like this (in sentence mode): Lonely paperbacks, that wanted just a taste of feeling to implode them before living, tiptoed to the wooden sign that said, "Now take your place in line for happy, this is lovely." Yep...I'm still not very sure on what this song means, but I'm sure that each verse is like a different story of a different person. |

The second verse is: In the gallows or the ghetto In the town or the meadow In the billows Even over the sun Every end of a time Is another begun |

| Tally Hall – Spring and a Storm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Correct lyrics (straight from the CD booklet!): One time I tried to sing About spring and a storm But you know How it goes Blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah Blah All along Won't you please stop complaining I'm playing a song But all the rain comes down the same Falling to from where it came On the ground then back around Up into the sky I wish you could have heard the music When the clouds growled overhead I finally felt enthusiastic I finally felt alive Blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah Blah So you said Would it please you to listen To thunder instead Man the rain came down that day And it drained my soul away And I wondered why I even Bothered to try Mr. Moon? Yeah? Tell us about the sky. The sky is deep and dark and eternally high Many people think that's where you go when you die Do you? Well I think you return to obscure Or wherever you were Before you were But I won't let you lose yourself in the rain We have so much left to sing There's a storm for every spring All you see and you and me Became from a star You're a star Yes you are (Silent explosive and Silent explosive and) Create until nothing is left to create and The universe bursts with an overworked sigh then Pretend to pretend to re-crown the creation and Sing the same thing 'til the clouds start to cry and then Over and over and over again and then Over and over and Never again |

| Tally Hall – Be Born Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Wow, onionblaster is right. This song is so much cuter now. I've always thought it was about a little child, but it makes more sense when it's about a BABY to be born. :) (Ehh...that paragraph came out weird.) |

Relient K -- er, Matt Thiessen -- really knows his stuff. The music (instrumentals, whatever you call them) is beautiful. |

| Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song. To me, the song is about two people who've never been official, and they are going to be far from each other. That's where the "I understand why you don't have the voice to say" part comes in. They're going to separate, but they still can't admit to each other what they feel...for whatever reason. I dunno, it sounded better in my head. My two cents! |

I agree with ya, stashx! I think it's being away from somebody and missing them. |
