i think the lyrics are actually.. a seizure with subtitles taken from a russian bitch's face... i really want to know what exactly kevin was singing during the last parts of the song. in my opinion this song talks about the things the mind is capable of thinking when loneliness becomes one's constant companion. although it can be a routine sometimes, there's still hope that there can be change somewhere ("you're held down by the sea, oh the number three, but i feel that there could be a lovely community"). plus the last part (the message/recording thing) offered optimism, so i think that's always good. this has got to be my favorite kevin drew song. :] |

i think this song is about a failing relationship, or a relationship that has gone really wrong and nearing its end. it's like the guy is doing everything he can to save the relationship, but the girl is always "pushing him away", and just doesn't care at all whether or not their relationship is going for a nosedive. i like these lines: Try commonsense. Make me believe in you I should have known you'd kick me hard when I'm on the ground bittersweet. |

this song made me think of conor as a god. pure stroke of genius, excellent writing, and i really really love conor's voice, so much emotion and raw energy.. i think this song is tops my list of favorite bright eyes songs. yes, i can hear it now. i wish someone can sing this one for me, haha. to chari bari.. i had a friend who was able to listen to the mraz version first before hearing conor's, and you were right on that one.. her oberst listening experience was slightly misled. and this song she overlooked for a moment and said jason mraz had something to do with it. haha =) |
