Reminds me of Because, on Abbey Road. It's so sparse, minimalist. Only five lines of lyrics. But it haunts me. |

"nobody noticed my misty escape. and i ended up floating like water in the air." vvv is like in dan price's book 'radical simplicity' [like walden]: "My intention, as I say in the book, was to 'honor our sacred earth by becoming so small, so quiet, and so unsubstantial that the environment...feels barely a whisper of my miniscule existence....In this way nature is free to express itself fully while I try to comprehend and appreciate its vast universal rhythms.'" |

growing up too fast. the person feels defeated by the odds against him. powerless. like is idealism even worth it? he's ready to give up. the response is: live right now. embrace infinite possibility. don't take yourself too seriously. keep it simple. |

| Rilo Kiley – Capturing Moods Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i always get happier when i listen to this song. its like, dont take things too seriously, put your problems in perspective, youre all right. i think when she says 'you could sell your baseball cards just to pay your rent', she means that the person is inventing problems and rents they must pay, when really theyre so trivial they could be paid off with baseball cards. one of my favorite rilo kiley songs. |

| The Microphones – Sand (Eric's Trip) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song is pretty. | |
| Radiohead – A Wolf at the Door (It Girl. Rag Doll) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| fear and paranoia. not about one crime in particular, but basically everything that could go/has gone wrong. feeling weak, outnumbered, hopeless, defeated. | |
| Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
the little voice in the beginning sounds like thom is trying to sing while gulping water. that said, this is a fantastic song. i agree with some other people in that its a song about contrasts. its about the good/bad, major tones/minor tones, right/wrong, and finding a perfect balance. epic. |
