| this song makes me sad. i firend told me that it said exactly what she wanted to say to me. (minus the drinking) she meant it as a compliment. but it was a shock form me too see how others see me. and it makes me sad because this friend means the world to me. so although its depressing i am so glad she showed me it, becuse maybe ow i can see whats wrong with me. so to her thatnk-you. and althought i dont particularly like this band i am gratful they put into words what others are feeling for somone. | |

"Cause all girls feel too big sometimes Regardless of their size'" i love this line it is beautiful and sadly true, i think it reiterates with me alittle to much. this is by far my faverite songe. i love tht you can listen to her music over and over again and the lyrics are so dense that each time yu pull osmthing new from them. as a 17 yrear old girl i fell t hat this song is abour relaise how your lives have changed. all the sudden you stop and look around and realise that your real relationships are gone. i m still friends with the same people but they arnt who they used to be. this song speacks to me about the routine and expectations you get pulled into. for me the "cant you come back?" is morning for what has changed and i just hope it goes back. that one day you get past this point and strip all the junk away. does it? |

I think it is about homosexual love. the tone makes you feel for the " beautiful" boys whoes lives are so much harder. im sure it is about Genet but it also speacks for other forbiden love. "Pimps and queens and criminal queers" drag queens, people in prison "Tattoos of ships and tattoos of tears" saliors and emo's ( just because i know oyu will no the term not because i agree with it) "Angelic hoodlums and holy ones" beatuiful criminals and preists/ all of these re stero typical gernralisations for say of gay peopple and yet when they sing it it isnt out of disgust but love of the subject. any wya my interpretation. All those beautiful boyz... |
