| Alter Bridge – Isolation Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is a really good song of theirs. Although it's about sort of a bad thing, isolation, it's still sort of uplifting and hopeful. Nice. | |
| Chris Cornell – Sunshower Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This IS a really amazing song, despite what anyone says. The lyrics are superb compared to a lot of the crap that gets spouted out today... cookie cutter lyrics from cookie cutter bands. The song is somewhat similar to Zeppelin's Rain Song. It makes the analogy of rain, but alludes to better times. A sunshower occurs when it rains but the sun is still shining. I also like that the song is not over-produced. It's nearly acoustic sounding... In fact, I bet it's pretty emotional when sung completely acoustic. | |
| Social Distortion – Ball and Chain Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Hope you're still sober, man! Cheers. | |
| Slash – Gotten Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It sounds to me like it's either about the woman being unfaithful or leaving and coming back and the man (the speaker/singer) is wrestling with the emotions of his love having been with someone else. | |
| Guns N' Roses – It's Alright Lyrics | 15 years ago |

It's missing a verse... Don't you know that it's all good for you, You can be making love and see it all go through, Well it's all right, it's all right. |

| Circa Survive – Living Together Lyrics | 17 years ago |

To the people who seem to like to argue about the meaning of this song, consider this: the beauty of being a listener to an artists songs is that you can interpret and take from it whatever meaning you choose. It can mean a million different things to a million different people. Sometimes artists don't even have meaning for their lyrics, and other times the lyrics are as straight-forward as reading a book. So let people interpret whatever they will, religious or otherwise, because it's only natural. It's not JUST the people who believe in God, everyone sees what they want to see. |

| LA Guns – Crystal Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is really amazing. Starts out slow and ends really powerful and full of energy. I'm surprised there's not more comments! I love the lyrics too, they're great. | |
| Röyksopp – Only This Moment Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I've seen several people propose that these lyrics don't have meaning, but I disagree with that. Not completely though. I think that they just have cryptic and non-straightforward meanings. They are just sung a certain way which contributes to the sound. I doubt they just dreamed up words that went together to make the sound they do. In fact I know so. That's just an absurd theory. The words are the words, it's the way he sings them and stretches, warps, changes them that makes the sound. |

| The Strokes – Someday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Also the part that goes "My ex says I'm lacking in depth" seems like a very sexual reference. Maybe a messy breakup where the girlfriend made fun of his penis size lol | |
| The Strokes – Someday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think that this song is a comment on relationships, failed (I see alone we stand, together we fall apart) and successful (You say you want to stay by my side, Darling your head's not right). I think that he's surprised by that line, the fact that this girl wants to stay by his side, because (and I'm relating this to personal experience) so many girls are not faithful or going even further they just don't commit to relationships at all. I think it's a beautiful song talking about a successful relationship. | |
| Velvet Revolver – American Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |

First off, great song. There should be more comments! Anyway, here's my incomplete interpretation: "Freedom the naked power Weakened by the ages Raped but not forgotten All its supple secrets Gods and liberations Those that try to use it Are those that try to sheath it Wide awake" This part seems to be about how so much of our country's origin is misconstrued, such as the Constitution and Bill of Rights. It seems to talk about how people sort of throw around the whole It's-a-free-country sort of idea (Raped but not forgotten). And it even says "Gods and liberations" That couldn't be more clear, free religion and other civil liberties. "Free men Haunted by the music Ghosts of generations Beat the drums for freedom Those who toiled and suffered Now those they try to smother Wide awake" That's an obvious reference to American History and the founding fathers and how they "toiled and suffered" It's saying that current leaders are smothering this fire that the founders had created. "Where to begin Bred to win Where do I go The soul worn off my skin So... I cut out the hole In my soul I know is you So are we ready Ready to lose I know I feel, feel, feel Inside the walls Inside the walls The iron walls protect the souls Of my old boots" I'm not so sure about this part. It seems almost like they're talking about how we have so much power (Bred to win) and we can basically do anything, but it also seems kinda like it's talking about how we might take a fall (So are we ready, ready to lose)... possibly referring to current affairs. But at the same time, I think they're saying that the past of our country and what it stands for won't change (The iron walls protect the souls, of my old boots) no matter what current leaders do. That's a very difficult verse. Awesome song, great band. |

| Saosin – I Never Wanted To Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I have some conflicting opinions with the lyrics there... I thought it was - "I'll clean your wounds tonight" and "Your eyes are yet to be clear now" But also, I have both songs, "New Angel" and "I Never Wanted To" and I like both, but I like the latter better. |
