| Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| such a sad and beautiful song, i cried he first time i heard it | |
| Rise Against – Sight Unseen Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i agree very poetic like all their songs. I love how each song is like a puzzle you can pick apart withyour mind and take so much meaning from | |
| Rise Against – Audience Of One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Great song as always from rise against. I think this song, like alot of their songs has multiple meanings, the main point of the song is loing sight ofthe original plan, forgeting what used to be important. "Maybe we've outgrown all the things that we once loved" this song is so gret becuse it can be viewed as a group of close friends who have disbanded, and went their seperate ways, a rlationship between a guy and girl and they've changed so much over the years that they're going their seperate ways. or it could be seen as a true defender of his contry somone wh loves his county(america) but realizes that the country itself has lost sight of it's goals and replaced them with materialistic ideals. | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Sirens Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i could've sworn this song was about anal sex when i first heard it LOL. but now that i read over the lyrics it makes more sense with the whole serial killer going after a girl he's in love with. Tom took a really dark scenario and showed it in a bright light, which i think is pretty amazing. I hear you breathe, I'm feeling the shake And the sound of my heartbeat Can't let go... Do you know? I'm feeling the pain Of my first love I let it go... can't let go this part is so powerful to me, i think this is the part when the guy is right over the girl getting ready to kill her. but Tom slowed down the music and put a very soft melodic tone on it. |
| Angels and Airwaves – Everything's Magic Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this is a very empowering song, i really like ava now, there new album is far better than the first in my opinion. but this song is basically saying never give up and keep pushing forward no matter what. very hopeful lyrics, i like | |
| Angels and Airwaves – Sirens Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this is a really good song, the only problem i have is that its a little too long for my taste. and I really like the whole thing about the murderer. its kinda creepy but at the same time its very romantic. also when I first heard this song it sounded like a guy falling in love with a girl and it was their first time having sex | |
| Ben Folds – Rockin' The Suburbs (Over the Hedge version) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i really like both versions of this song. both versions make really good points about how shallow and mindless people can be. the original is more about the music industry, but this version all though it was intended for a kids movie, I think, is just as smart and witty as the original poking fun and showing what suburbian life really is. which is why i think this version appeals to me more. I unfortunately live in a suburb, and it's ridiculous. everyone is like robots and they all numb there brains with the tv. which is why I like the line 'let me tell you all what its like. watching idol on a friday night' |
| Linkin Park – No Roads Left Lyrics | 18 years ago |
oh yeah i forgot to add what i thought the meaning of it was. lol i think its kinda like alot of other LP songs just done in a far greater way. (im talking about the lyrics) their very in depth but at the same time very vague he's definetely upset with himself. maybe he failed at something a while ago and is now afraid he'll fail the same why he did then. so he just runs away from his problems until there's no roads left but one as he put it. it's a great song and I love how Mike experemented with the vocals. he has really decent voice he should sing more often |
| Linkin Park – Shadow Of The Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song definetely has mutiple meanings, one of the reasons why I love LP so much. it can be taken in many different ways that are very similar as well. I personally think it has to do with chester's divorce, but he and his wife got re-married. I kinda hear that in the whole 'sometimes goodbye is the only way part' so they had a bad riff, but now they're back together and it's basically him going through the process of the divorce and then coming out of it. he's glad that he's back with his wife but the whole deal with the divorce still hurts him. just my interpretation, i could be wrong |
| Linkin Park – No Roads Left Lyrics | 18 years ago |
BAD ASS SONG!! period. and mixmastermax i totally feel where your coming from. and ghandipointsforthrty it sounded like that to me too. my favorite part is when he says why does my pain feel like my pride? I love this song!!!! |
| (+44) – 155 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
its a bout a breakup, i like to think that mark left it up inthe air for people to decide whether its about the blink breakup or a guy and girl breakup. I had also heard that this was about the barkers and that they had some nasty divorce or something like that, but i think thats just a rumor. the song to me, is a guy and a girl, splitting up and the guy is pretty much saying let's forget about our problems just for tonight and go down to the water like we used to even though its the last time. the "dry your hollow eyes" line is like him saying yeah you cheated on me and crying doesn't prove your sorry, so ill forget about it for now |
| (+44) – 145 [Acoustic 155] Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| great song i like both versions | |
| (+44) – Guten Tag (Wir Sind Helden Cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I know what gives with that? +44 is more popular in Europe, seeing as how thats where they formed the band. to be honest i think AVA has more american fans, which is pretty gay. its all those damn emo kids, gaying up everything! by the way this song is really cool! |
| Blink-182 – Shut Up Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I fucking love this song, for all you idiots who think its about his girlfriend your sadly mistaken. it's about hits mom, "the whole part about the nights we had to get through" is mark talking about how him and his mom were pretty much alone together cuz his dad left. anyone who's been in that sort of situation knows what im talking about. and now the two of them are pissed at eachother. his moms angry cuz he doesn't do what she says and he's angry cuz she deosn't care about his point of veiw. this is established in the line when he says "You're just a fuck up she said I'll live alone instead" the entire song is all about him moving out, or "running away" and then becomeing famous and thinking about his past with her "No sleep on this flight I'll think about the nights we had to get through how did we get through?" bottom line this song is badass and deserves to be blasted everytime its played |
| Angels and Airwaves – The Machine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
WOW only one of you gave an interpretation of what this song means. cruentisx is partially right. letting go of the past yes but it's really about the whole blink breakup. I left the chill and voice, the screams in kids, and ran for shelter. this line says it all. and of course the whole 'i wont say sorry part.' by the way I'm not really an ava fan but this is a decent song. +44 is better in my opinion |
| Matchbook Romance – Goody, Like Two Shoes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with Punkkid6312 when I heard their new sound I was a little dissapointed. I think alot of people were, maybe that's why they broke up. but this song really stuck out from the others though I really liked it but I wasn't sure what it was about exactly until I came to this site lol. the whole thing with the girl having an abortion is dead on. it's really fucked up, but it makes a great song |
| Fort Minor – Move On Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Linkin Park – No More Sorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| And MCR will NEVER amount to the gretness that is Linkin park! | |
| Linkin Park – No More Sorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Maverick21 shouldn't talk about reading the lyrics. it's definetly Thieves and hypocrites! you idiot! and yes this is an anti-bush, anti-war song. I don't think they've jumped on the bandwagon of hating bush though, I think, like me, they were okay with what bush was doing until about two years ago. Which is why they say I'm begining to think that I've been decieved. This line pretty much says it all. |
| Linkin Park – In Between Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I really like this song as well as the others on the album. I like that they've stretched out their styles a little more, trying something different. as far as the song goes, I was really expecting to hear some guitars and base in it like towards the end of the song, it was like they were building up for it but just decided not to put it in there. oh and for the record, they say not only on the lyric booklet, but also on the DVD, that their producer helped them changed alot of there styles. it was his idea to make this album more rock then rap. Mike was alittle upset at first but I don't think he minds considering the outcome of it. although I would've liked to hear him rap in a few songs. |
| Linkin Park – Bleed It Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think he's singing about a death in the family, just the felling I got from it | |
| Linkin Park – What I've Done Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| such a great song, they really outdid themselves with this one. Great new sound, and great lyrics as always | |
| All That Remains – The Deepest Gray Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it's coming from a vampires point of veiw. who's in love with this girl but can't stay with her cuz he's vampire. "Could blood not be so sweet or flow enough to sustain two hundred nine tomorrow's rise and I'm alone again" like rev23dev said he was with a girl for 209 days but the blood he has in him wont last that long. so by "tommorrow's rise." he's alone because he has to leave her. "The deepest gray forever lives inside of me but I am not afraid, for I have lived this agony" It's the darkness that he's wrapped himself into, but he he's not afraid of it because he's been like this forever. the "walk through this fire" part is cool because vampires can't walk amongst the sun so he's gunna kill himself to end the pain his been in. And so the night wears on And so my patience thins To my eyes dawn in horror 'Cause I'm alone again I think here he's saying it's over and his "eyes dawn in horror" such a cool line. it's no coincidence that he used dawn as a double meaning there. dawn as in awaken to the horror, and dawn as in the sun is rising. the entire song he's waiting for the sun to rise because he's sick of not being able to be with the girl |
| Sublime – Wrong Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
for the longest time I thought the girls name was susie, I guess I was hearing it wrong. devilslittlesister pretty much explained it perfectly |
| Sublime – Wrong Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is very simple to understand. alot of people dont seem to get it though. she's a prostitute for her dad he meets her and bangs her but feels bad about it and starts to get to know her. He starts thinking about taking her away cuz he knows she deserves it but she says know and he tells her "I ain't here to make ya." he wants to take her back to the states but she says no. And they do talk about killing her dad but they don't do it. so as he's about to bring her home she leaves him and runs away. he doesn't do anything about it though cuz he just a guy what more can he do? this song is a story like most other sublime songs, and explains itself so yeah the point of the song is the world is fucked up like that and is filled with situations like this. it's sad but that's the way things are. |
| All That Remains – Six Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yeah i think this sort of thing has happened to all of us at one point in time. | |
| Fort Minor – Move On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| it's kinda sad but it's so cool the way he tells it. | |
| All That Remains – This Calling Lyrics | 19 years ago |
At first I thought he was addicted to someone in the past like an old ex-girlfriend. But after listening to the song a few times I realized it was more towards a drug addiction. I secretly crave, crave that scent again and now it's like he feels guilty that part of him still wants the drugs, cuz he thought he was done with it. but the fact that he still wants it makes him realize he needs to stay away from it. which is why he says Still I believe that this calling will see me through. Still feel it pressing on me now (He's talking about the needles that he used) Now with the onset my flesh is weakening (Every part of him is loosing strength) I steal my nerves for temptaions at hand again. (But instead of giving in he fights off the cravings) I like the second verse No secrets, deception, for these would tear this down. He's not lying to himself cuz it only makes things worse. I'll note the past, spare the pain. He's not gunna make the same mistake twice. Words match my deeds with brutal honesty. He's saying that what he has just said is the truth, even though part of him doesn't want to believe it. Never forget these choices were made by me He's not forgetting what he's done or the decision he made, and he's sticking to it. Not falling victim to the fire that burns inside of me. (He's saying again that he's not letting the addiction control him.) Though I am fearful I cannot prevent this tragedy (He's doubting he can hold it off any longer) My strength's been tested, I wear the scars that prove. (He's will to fight it off has been tested in the past before, and the scars that prove line could mean one of two things. He could mean that he became a cutter to try and stop his addiction, or it's the scars that are left behind from herion or something.) Still I believe that this calling will see me through. (I think the "this calling" part means he's a born again christian and that he's found a way out through god or something. So I think it could either be about a girl, but it fits better with like a drug addiction coming back to him |
| Atreyu – The Theft Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this songs about the loss of innocence. if you watch the video it makes perfect sense. it's about a guy who has forgotten whats really important and beautiful to him. he's lost himself in a lie that other people have made for him. in the video it shows a kid playing with an airplane or something, and then it switches over to the kid winning some award, he's probably really smart or something, and then he goes on to become like a lawer or some executive for a company, all he really wants to do is be the little kid again and enjoy the simplicity he used to have, but it was all taken away from him. hence the name of the song , the theft. it's actually a really deep song | |
| All That Remains – Passion Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| lol i like krazylarry's response. The lyrics in this song are really deep | |
| All That Remains – Empty Inside Lyrics | 19 years ago |
yeah I think this is about a relationship that's over because the girl thought he was emotionless, but he's telling her he's not anymore, becuase of what he felt when she left him. I don't feel anything Outside the pain you bring Starting over doesn't look so bad this time |

| this song is about stupid emo kids complaining about their pathetic lives! do us all a favor! SHUT UP AND KILL YOURSELF ALREADY CUZ WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOU ANYMORE!!!!! | |
| Finch – What It Is To Burn Lyrics | 19 years ago |
yeah it's about a guy writing a letter from hell. The girl is the only one who understnads him and what he's going through. And when he says she burns towards the end he's referring to the letter, it's burning all around him just like everything else. I feel diseased. Is there no sympathy from the sun? -he's talking about his surroundings in hell and how it makes him feel. The sun is much worse in hell because everythign is on fire! duh The sky is still fire, but I am safe in here from the world outside. -He's sort of locked himself away in the words he's wirting on this letter to his girl. So tell me, what's the price to pay for glory? -Not entirely sure what this part means, possibly the explanation as to why he's in hell. Maybe he was full of himself when he was alive and that's why he's in hell now, you know the whole vanity thing. Like a bad star, I'm falling faster down to her. -He's falling into hell "like a bad star" The down to her part is metaphorical, he's talking about how when he writes this letter to her it makes him feel closer to her. She's the only one who knows what it is to burn. -And she's the only one who knows cuz she's reading his letter and he's telling her about it. |

| The Get Up Kids – The Most Depressing Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| he's talking about someone in his family possibly who doesnt think very highly of him, so he creates a band and does all this great stuff and goes great places(Long Way From Home, Here's Me;Overseas) and makes great music that he's putting his heart and soul into but they don't even notice it | |
| The Get Up Kids – The Most Depressing Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Fort Minor – Get Me Gone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
who cares who he is he's a loser. The lines in this song are so smart, as are most of mike shinoda's lyrics. people used to infer that we were manufactuerd. I love how infer is said in this line. the point is well said |
| Fort Minor – The Hard Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is great, it is about change for the worse, but I thnk that it's coming from a kids point of view, with a parent seperation. and he's talking to a friend of his, trying to get the answers from a friend, cuz he doesn't understand why everything is changing. Can somebody please explain to me What happened to the way that we always said we'd be? This line really speaks to me. very powerful lyrics. also the part where he goes, not a thing is forgotten, not a thing is forgiven. he's explaining the situation with his parents. They don't forget what they did to eachother to get to where they are now, and they don't forgive either. very sad but very true |
| Fort Minor – Cigarettes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song's lyrics are amazing. It so deep, like cmill216 said the metaphor is amazing. Mike shinoda's lines are incredible. | |
| Fort Minor – Believe Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
yeah this song is awesome. Fort minor is really the only rap music that I listen to. lol. So yeah it's a bad realtionship, and a worse breakup. I think the girl cheated on him and he took her back but she did again and he pretty much told her to go fuck herself. He's moving on and there's nothing she can do about it, she's not gunna control him anymore. And he can tell just by the type of person she is that she's only gonna go down, but he's not gunna let this bad realtionship bring him down. "I used to have alittle bit of a plan, used to have a concept of where I stand, but that concept slipped right outta my hand. and now I don't really even know who I am." He had put so much into this relationship and it's all gone, she was everything to him, and now that she's gone he doesn't know what to do. "Yo, what do I have to say? Maybe I should do what I have to do to break free, and Whatever happens to you, we'll see But its not gonna happen with me" He's made up his mind and he's not going down like she is. he's moving on. I love the chorus. "I guess that this is where we've come to." The end of their relationship, the breakup. "If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me." she's in denial and probubly thinks he's gunna come back to her or take her back. But he's telling her it's not gunna happen. "But I, wont be there when you go down." He's not gunna be there when she realizes she's nothign without him, cuz he was the best thing that happend to her. What they had was really good but she through it away. "Just so you know now You're on your own now, believe me" He's telling her she better wake up cuz he's not gunna hold her up, or let her use him anymore. "Now i'm thinkin' like the mistake that I made doesn't hurt But it's not gonna work cause its Really much worse than I thought I wished you were something you were not And now this guilt is really all that I've got" I love this line. The mistake he made was taking her back and he has guilt over it because he knew it was a bad decision when he did it and it only made things worse. He's pretending it didn't do anythign to him but it did, cuz the problem is still there |
| Fort Minor – Slip Out The Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
oh I pressed add before I added this part! "You know me I used to get caught up in everyday life Trying to make it through my day so I could sleep at night Tried to figure out my way through the maze of rights and wrongs But like you used to say Nothing feels like it's really worth it Forget perfect, I'm trying not to be worthless Since I last saw you I've been looking for a purpose Well, I met this kid who thought like I did He had a weird way of looking at it This is what he said" This is the angel appearing to him and telling him this story, I know I wrote that it was the kid that was talking to him before, but it's really the angel telling him this story...sorry about that |
| Fort Minor – Slip Out The Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
okay, although I had a good laugh when I heard the anal sex comment on this song, and there was a very good explanation for it I think your wrong Tc2r. He's talking about how he's sick of getting the short of end of the stick in life. So instead of trying to deal with it he's thinking of running away. "Slip out the back." or killing himself like lkershaw said. But I think that the person that Mike is portarayed as in this song is someone who is contemplating suicide but they're having second thoughts about it. And the little kid is sort of like someone trying to tell him not to do it by telling him what they went through. In all honesty, I think that the little kid is an angel appearing to him in the form of a kid. "I don't remember where I met him or remember his name, but he walked funny like he was just too big for his frame." This is the kid/angel appeareing to him possibly in a dream. Which is why he doesn't remember much about him just his words. "he walked funny like he was just too big for his frame." The kid is too big for his frame cuz of his wings. "Over five foot but he weighed a buck fifty." He's small and insignificant, but he's got some weight to him, from his wings. "what he said seemed so right it stuck with me." Not the act of suicide that stuck with him, but the choice not to do it. At this point in the song you have'nt really heard the rest of the story. And obviously Mike is still alive cuz he's telling it to you. "Listen, it's like poker, you can play your best But you gotta know when to fold your cards and take a rest And know when to hold your cards, hold your breath And hope that nobody else is stacking the deck." I love this part of the song, he makes such a great comparison with life and poker. he's pretty much saying that you gotta know when to give up. "And like you, I want someone to say it's okay." The kid/angel is changing Mike's mind about suicide by using reverse psychology. He's telling Mike to do it and to end it all. And he's having second thoughts about it, because he sees how screwed up the kid's life is. "In the truest part of our hearts everybody's afraid." He's telling mike that he's not the only one who feels this way. Many people who are going to attempt siucide think they're the only ones who are feeling the way they do. And it feels better to know that someone else feels the same way. He's subliminally changing his mind now. "We're just underappreciated and overwhelmed Fighting so hard to hide our fear that we're scaring ourselves" Again he's explaining that he's not the only one just more in depth. "You understand what I'm saying, cause you always did." He's relating to the angel. There's always been that little bit of doubt in his mind. "But it's different in the words of a cowardly kid." really powerful words in this line. He's begining to see things through the kids eyes. and realizing that his problems aren't anywhere near as bad as the kids' are. I think that's what this song is really about, even though you may think your life blows and nothing goes right, there are other people in this world that are suffering much more than you are. Even though we really do wanna slip out the back. There are people who would kill for what we have. So I think that in this part of the song the angel is appering to him possibly in the form of someone that he knows possibly his father that abandoned him when he was a little kid. And is explaining to him that even though he slipped out the back when no one knew he was there, he realized it was a bad decision. "All of this to explain to you why I had to Separate myself away from yesterday's life Please remember, this isn't how I hoped it would be But I had to protect you from me." This, to me, is his father telling him how sorry he was for all that he did. Even though he wants to take it all back he just lives with it. "I didn't wanna be around just to bring you down I'm not a hero but don't think I didn't care" Again I think this part is his father talking to him, trying to tell him not to give up on the life that he has. Even though he wants to end it all and run away, like his father did. He tells him not to. So I think it's really an angel persay, sortof like an angel of death possibly, telling not to end his life. |

| Linkin Park – QWERTY Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song kicks sooo much ass! I just heard it and I almost didn't think it was linkin park for a second just cuz it's so much harder than there other stuff. But im not complaining, this song fuckin rocks!! | |
| Linkin Park – Pushing Me Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is soo deep it's not even funny! he's pretty much telling his girlfriend that he's done with her and he's not gunna pretend to love her anymore. Cuz the smiles that he fakes hurt him just as much as it hurts her. "I've lied to you, the same way that I always do." He's done it so many times before telling her he loves her when he really doesn't. "This is the last smile that I'll fake for the sake of being with you." he really doesn't want to be in this realationship anymore, but he's holding on to it for one of two reasons. 1. he really does love her but he knows she doesn't love him the same way. so he's just pretneding everything is okay, and he's sick of the damage he's doing to himself. 2. he doesn't love her and it kills him to tell her how he really feels because he doesn't want to break her heart. Possibly because he's had his heart broken before and he knows how fucked up that feels. "everything falls apart even the people who never frown eventually break down." He's telling himself and his g/f that everything ends so dont make a big deal about it. "The sacrifice of hiding in the lie." "everything has to end, you'll soon find were out of time left to watch it all unwind." he's telling her to let it go, and there's nothing they can do about it. "The sacrifice is never knowing why, I never walked away, why I played myself this way, now I see your testing me pushes me away." He's telling her what he's done to himself, and how it's not worth the pain it's put him through. "I've tried, like you, to do everything you've wanted to. This is the last time, I'll take the blame for the sake of being with you." He knows she's been doing the same thing to herself, to be with him. Even though they don't want eachother, they don't want to go through another breakup. That's pretty much it, the rest just repeats what was said in the beginning of the song. As I said before this song is really deep. My favorite part is when he says; "everything falls apart even the people who never frown eventually break down, the sacrifice of hiding in a lie. everythign has to end, you'll soon find we're out of time left to watch it all unwind." |
