It's "Three Wise Men," not "Rewindin." How could you forget Jim, Jack and Jose?! This is like the best bar song ever...love it. |

I hated this song the first ten times I heard it...then one night I heard it at a bar and I realized it's exactly how I feel about going out and partying. Now I can't stop listening to it and constantly have it stuck in my head.
The only part I don't understand is why she wakes up feeling like P. Diddy. I mean, it could just be in there for rhyming purposes, but perhaps there's another meaning behind it I'm missing. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Meet Me on the Equinox Lyrics

I was sooo excited to find out Death Cab was doing the single for New Moon - two of my favorite worlds finally colliding. I must say, however, that I'm not as impressed with this song as I thought I would be. Like everyone else has said, it really doesn't compare to past DCFC songs lyrically. The chorus is really the only part of the song that I like, which is most likely the part that's going to be used in the movie, so it all works out I suppose. I think Ben had the chance to really bring it with this song and he sort of just made a nice song with a nice melody and nothing about it is extremely interesting or awesome. |

I looked around to see if I could find any info on this but there's nothing really up about it yet. My guess is that it's probably LeRoi, since they opened the album with him, it's only fitting they close with him too. |

| Dave Matthews Band – You and Me Lyrics

There's a bit missing:
We can always look back at what we did
Always the memory of you and me baby
But right now it's you and me forever girl
You know we can do better than anything that we did
You know that you and me we can do anything
This song is beautiful, amazing, wonderful...I simply cannot stop listening to it. It's about escaping with the one you love to forever. The last part nods to leaving behind the past and just looking forward to what you will have together. And the line "When the kids are old enough we're gonna teach them how to fly"...they're going to teach how they love and live to their children...I love it!
A brilliant album. |

| Britney Spears – If U Seek Amy Lyrics
|
If U Seek Amy is indefinitely phonetic for f-u-c-k me. There's no way it's not, considering all of the reviews talking about how controversial this song is and the fact that the song has literally no meaning without it.
I think though, referring to what Jeesha and theCombusted are wondering about, the reason she still sings about this "Amy" girl is to sort of throw off the innuendo/pun. Obviously in the first and second verses, she's talking about an actual girl ("Have you seen Amy tonight? Is she in the bathroom or is she smokin' up outside?"). But when she sings, "I can't get her off of my brain," I see it more like "Amy" is sex. Which makes sense to lead into the chorus, talking about everyone just wanting to do her [Britney].
The whole point of the song is to make you think and really listen. A first for a Britney song! I still love her nonetheless; this is one of my favorites off the album. "Oh baby baby if you seek Amy tonight
Oh baby baby we’ll do whatever you like" - genius! |

I'm kind of obsessed with this song - it's so freakin' catchy.
It's completely about phone sex, and makes me want to just dance all up on someone.
Love it. |

| Against Me! – Thrash Unreal Lyrics

I completely agree with Josef K. Reinventing was one hell of an amazing album, and so is New Wave. I don't think that AM! sold out - I think they just grew up. Raw, gritty political punk is all good and fun, but you can't ask someone to stay in the same rigid genre for forever.
As for the song, I'd say it's simply about a girl who has fucked up and doesn't really know where she's going in life, but she's had some amazing moments and wouldn't have it any other way. |

I absolutely love Hannah Montana, no matter how extremely lame and cheesy that sounds. I'm totally proud of it too! Haha, anyway, I love this song; it's probably one of my favorites. |

The whole drug reference may be correct, but I like to think it's just talking about how we all go through life without taking any chances, just being monochrome and mediocre. One of my most favorite songs of all time. Dave is a genius. |

I could listen to this song for hours on end. It's beauty honestly goes beyond what I could ever put in words. The fact that it has a hymn embedded in it makes it that much more amazing, I think. |

I was driving along one day searching my iPod for some upbeat but also mellow-ish music, and stumbled upon this song. It's been on repeat for a long time in my car.
I was wondering what was the meaning behind Black Cab, so thanks ohioghost for clarifying. I relate to this song quite well, for I feel that sometimes I screw up lots of things and don't even care if something else goes wrong (They might be psycho killers/But tonight I really don't care) because I just don't care anymore and I'm fucked anyway.
An amazing song. |

| Big Japan – All The Fish In The Sea Are Stupid Sluts Anyway Lyrics

I must admit, I first became a Big Japan fan solely because of Adam Brody. I had no idea that they had such great music.
This song has got to be one of my favorites. It's got a crazy special place in my heart because of what I was going through when I first heard it, but I think it's about when you first meet that one person you know is meant for you, and you're in it head over heels; no matter if that other person feels the same way about you. |

| Peter Bjorn and John – Roll the Credits Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
Seriously? Because I don't see that at all. For me it's more like, a couple doesn't want to put up with all the crap the rest of the world is giving them for one reason or another, and they want to leave and live happily ever after together. I can see where you say it's the end, from "let's take the easy way out" and "let's pull the curtains down and leave", but I see those lines more as a way to seperate themselves from the world. And "she's stepping on my shoes/and i couldn't want it more" is like he loves her little quirks and such.
But I totally agree that it's best song on the album. |

I agree, Sydney. I used to think it said, "I had to tell it I'm immune to her." It gives it a little different sort of feeling with 'her' instead of 'love', even though it's not right. |

against_me, i'm think it is "a womb within me." i've always heard that as well. it seems like "i know whom within me" isn't enough syllables to match the song. and plus, it doesn't even make a whole lot of sense. "a womb" fits a lot better. |

| Hinder – Lips of an Angel Lyrics

First of all, THIS SONG IS NOT SWEET. It's talking about a guy, regardless of his past relationship with this girl, getting ready to cheat on his current girlfriend. And honestly, does any girl ever want to be the other girl, even if they still love the guy? I don't think so.
Secondly, Hinder sounds just like Nickelback and Creed and all those other retarded bands. They are not original at all.
I really just don't understand how anyone could like this song knowing what it's talking about, other than the fact that it's kinda catchy. |

| Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics

I don't think Sufjan and his writing will ever cease to amaze me. I lost my mother to cancer, and while obviously this is talking about a different sort of love being lost, the way Sufjan writes about God and loss is unbelieveably true. The last line, "And He takes and He takes and He takes", gets me every single time. I can't listen to it without being drawn to tears.
I think to truly understand and feel the depth of this song, you sort of need to have experienced a loss of someone extremely close to you. And if you have any sort of relationship with God at all, it hits even closer to home.
Brilliant song, brilliant writing, brilliant man. |
