First time I've read the lyrics, and heard the song! It seems like this guy, is into someone, really deeply or something.. And he wants her to see that. But something, drugs, is stopping her. I get the vibe that this girl he is singing to, uses drugs or w/e to keep away from reality. He just wants her eyes to open so that she can see what around her. "I've seen you fall between everywhere we go. They want to love you, baby, more than you know. I've seen the storm inside you all through the day. I know it never leaves you not in that way." He knows what she is without the drugs, and so does everybody else. They all want to know her, and they all seem to like her. But she's blinded, and doesn't see that. I could be totally off with this, but this what I'm getting out of it. |

My first thoughts after listening to this song, was as if it were talking about a friendship that is either dying, or is already dead. One of the friends, Justin, thinks back to his friend periodically and just wonders if he/she is doing ok. As for the father view, which seems to be correct if Justin stated at a show, then I could also see that. In his fathers perspective, he just thinks about his son who has grown up and all the cute little memories. |
