well, what this song PERSONALLY means to me [disregarding the true meaning] is someone growing up. I mean, I loved this song before, but I hooked up with a guy that I knew from my childhood, and it just see this song in a whole new perspective. "Talk to me now Im older; Kiss me now that Im older." "I wont try to control you." - promises that Im going to be good to him. And the line: "Is this the stage I want.." His last name is Stage, so that just makes everything 20 times better lol |

this song reminds me of a situation, I was recently in, so much it's not even funny. haha I was really close to this guy. we were having "relations" but we weren't officially together. well, one of our friends had recently broken up with this girl, and she was a skank. well anywho, she was really pretty and funny, and he would hang out with her all the time, and it would piss me off so bad. you could tell she was trying to take him from me just because she could. but once confronted about it, he immediately stopped talking to her. not answering her phone calls and such, not calling her back, and just completely ignoring her. and to watch her suffer now "I've got the biggest smile" haha this song reminds me of that story all too well. and whenever I hear it, I have to smile because I told her I was going to win this war, and I did. :] |

i can relate to this song in alot of areas. i sleep all the time, i dont eat, and i just drink, smoke, or pop pills. and my cat [bo] always comes to comfort me. he always to play with me when im sleeping. but honestly, hes the only thing keeping me alive. when i got him, all we did was played and socialized, but now that im back into my drug habit, he seems sorrowful, but hopeful. he gives me some kind of hope. [its odd how much i appreciate my cat] |

this is just my first thought on it. but I believe that this song is about someone who was happy, and loving [the first and second lines], who fell into the arms of someone controlling [hence the chains]. with the controlling behavior, and what-not, theyre becoming cold, and angry inside [from the "its burning me up inside" through the rest of the song]. the eyes arent bright and loving anymore. they are filled with dull anger and sorrow. thats my take on it anyhow |

its about a girl who has cheated on a guy, and probably still is. he doesnt know what to believe when she talks to him. he cant pull himself away from her though, but just being with her hurts. and everytime she goes out, hes worried that she is cheating on him again. she keeps denying that she is, but he knows. and its hurting him so bad. i have a similar experience, but only with a guy. |

i am in a rough situation right now with a guy. i feel that this song, at least to me, means that someone is in love with someone and they dont show a commitment and dont love the other person back nearly as much. "ill be the one who breaks my heart."- since he doesnt feel the same, she gets jealous, and by doing so she is pushing him away, therefore shes breaking her own heart. "i know more than i knew before."- she knows the truth now, she thought he really loved her at first, but now she knows that he, in fact, doesnt. "i love you more"- pretty self explanatory, she loves him more than he loves her. "now i know i wanna win the war."- she wants to win against another girl he sees. i believe that this song means that he knows that they are in love, and hes just waiting for her to tell him that. or hes waiting for them to get married. because im feeling a different meaning because im having problems, i believe it could also mean that hes in love with her, and would do anything for her, but he knows she doesnt feel the same for him and hes waiting on her to tell him that. |
