| Idiot Pilot – Lucid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Awesome, finally someone took the time to type out what the electronic voice is saying the whole time... just so you know, though, the sung lyrics are Wake me from this lucid dream. I no longer have control. Control has longer known I. Dream lucid and from me wake. It's like the same lyrics but in reverse order, with a few replacements to make it actually make sense. As for the meaning, I believe we all can relate to the feeling like we're living in a lucid dream, one where we feel it all but can't control it, we're just being swept along to our doom and it's all wrong and slowly we just give up. |

| Idiot Pilot – Arrhythmia Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Try these instead. View at our discretion Touch at your expense We sit upon the mountaintops and peaks We will use fear to execute And devour you With agenda. We found a way (Ladies and gents) We found a way (Ladies and gents) To deceive (Ladies, and gentlemen) You (We bring to you the nightmare) Ladies and gentlemen, hello We give you the nightmare Brought to you, the proud Sponsors of the wasted land We fought so hard To have (The dj cuts in half-time) Come on and get inside (No longer living a lie) (She sold her soul for new eyes) Sit back enjoy the ride (No longer living a lie) __________ Annd... I have no idea what it means. Sounds like the leaders of a nation becoming tyrranistic and controlling, bringing to the people the nightmare of oppression. |

| Idiot Pilot – A Light at the End of the Tunnel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Again, incorrect lyricses. A light at the end of the tunnel A secret society An imagined state of illness A tired factory Atop the plateaus and broken peaks I wish I'd thought of that before I pulled the trigger The deficit and debt I need a favor I need you to doctor up Some false documents We're moving up the ladder It's them versus you ___________ But... I have no idea what any of this means. I think of suicide first and foremost, but the whole false documents thing... Perhaps "pulling the trigger" is an analogy for getting yourself in over your head. Murdering yourself and throwing yourself in a pit of "deficit and debt" that you can't climb out of. Getting mixed in with vicious types. They want you dead. I'm thinking the whole false documents thing was perhaps something they asked you to do for them and then they'd help you, and it went sour, and now you're running from them and the law. Which can easily be an analogy for how quickly and easily things get screwed up in any relationship. |

| Idiot Pilot – To Buy a Gun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
More corrections... sigh. To me it seems That resting easy is a plea for change And I long to taste that outward thought Of course this means Getting up from off my seat but it's warm So warm in here, I'm restless to escape Cause that's all it takes to buy a gun On the third day of the third month That's all it takes to buy a gun Lungs Breathe soft Your blood gets thick When the gun goes off The rush creates An impact on my current mental state And some would say that's wrong But I found More joy in a coaxing with a gun And the expression of the chaos we've become __________ The song's lyrics, construction, everything, is intertwined. The message isn't hard to understand. People have become too complacent, too comfortable, too self-assured. Things are stagnant, and I'm sure many people have felt their own relationships turning stale many a time. Many people change their lives in explosive, sudden ways when they feel it's become stale. They find more joy in forcing things to be different than letting them stay the same, more joy in the expression of their feelings than the feelings themselves. The line "Third day of the third month" may refer to many different things... March 3rd 2005: James Roszko murders four Royal Canadian Mounted Police constables during a drug bust at his property in Rochfort Bridge, Alberta, then commits suicide. March 3rd 1971: Beginning of Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and India's official entry to the Bangladesh Liberation War in support of Mukti Bahini March 3rd 1938: Oil is discovered in Saudi Arabia. The last and first I find to be the most likely - the last even more so. Oil? Well, that's all it takes for us to "buy a gun" and go to war for it, isn't it? Political... but the gun could EASILY stand for something else, very easily. |

| Idiot Pilot – Militance Prom Lyrics | 19 years ago |

CORRECTION. :P These are the words to our song (So where's it going now?) Reinforced outward sound (It helps to write it down) Well do you think they'd mind? (I guess we'd have to find out) I don't think we've got much time (Let's do it in a round) Yo check this I'm-a chill like the cubes of ice When I mention Calcutta y'all feel the spice As I roll with a two-tone cellular phone And get blown like inflation Gas wit price cause I'm the- (Shut up Mike) I know hip-hop's played out (So where's it going now?) (I'll tell you) Reinforced outward sound (It helps to write it down) Well do you think they’d mind? (I guess we'd have to find out) I don't think we've got that kind of time (So let's burn it to the ground) Fire. Fire. Fire in the hole. _____________ This is an awesome song. It's one of those "everything's the same, every song is a clone of the last, it's all overplayed and overdone, it's like 'Hey look at us, we're singing.' We don't have time to listen to all this useless meaningless music, let's get back to the roots, back to originality, take all this hype and burn it" types of songs. I love it :) |

| Idiot Pilot – Strange We Should Meet Here Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Try these lyrics on for size. _______________ If only we could Be friends for a time Friends for a time I would be so Glad to call you mine So glad to call you mine And now that we've loved And laughed a thousand times We've died a thousand times I'll ask you to give me All of your time All of your time (Come on, I could be anyone) You remind me (Oh, please don't go) Of someone I used to know (Come on, I could be anyone) You remind me (Oh, please don't go) Of someone I used to know (You've become someone else) (You've become someone else) And now that we've died Our souls we'll realign A marriage so divine In heaven Everything is fine Everything is fine ________________ As for the meaning, I'd have to agree with n0anesthetic, while adding that death, heaven, etc, can all be allusions to the multiple lives we live from day to day. We all change and grow and this is how we've lived a thousand times. And I've had moments like this, like I'm living another life completely and I don't even recognize the people I used to know because they've changed as well. |

| Idiot Pilot – Moerae (The Locust) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Try these lyrics: A dismal wasteland Touched by some sun star A single thread of light (To be seen) They don't wave back When only locusts I attract I wonder why I even bother ____________ This is part of the visual message on the cover, of the wasteland, dead trees, it seems nothing is living. The only thing even touching it is the sun. It exists, it is seen, but there is nothing, only an infestation of locusts, the locusts that are responsible for killing everything and making it into a wasteland. The analogy, the meaning, is that this is a person. I've had this happen to myself many times - I stop to look deep inside someone, thinking that glimmer of light might be some hope of something good. And I end up feeling as dead inside as they do, because their locusts are the only thing that's left to greet me. They destroy me as well. And I wonder why I even bother. |

| Idiot Pilot – Sparkplug Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Okay uhhh... these lyrics don't make any sense. Let's try THESE instead: Fortunes wide I'm riding on through the spectrum, the spectrum You wanna tumble with me, I'll take you out with election, election Don't bother to retreat We'll hunt you down - we've connections, connections We will not stop until we find out who did this Well okay, we'll hear you out But first we'll tie you down and show you just what pain's about We'll give water to the children, we'll all drink wine Just shut your mouth and listen, it will be just fine Suicide Will not provide intervention, suspension The coil we've received Is winding down to the tension, the tension There is no longer a need For any kind of complexion, complexion We will not stop until we have all the pieces Well okay, we'll hear you out But first we'll tie you down and show you just what pain's about We'll give water to the children, we'll all drink wine Just shut your mouth and listen, it will be just fine When the fans of the plan start to scream and shout Well they opened up their mouths and only beasts came out That's what you get for going swimming in the lake of fire (STAND UP) Yeah (COME OUT) Yeah Then you disconnect the phone and ride the snake Two nails to the hand is all it takes When the ugly ones will steal your face (STAND UP) Yeah (COME OUT) Yeah (STAND UP) Yeah (COME OUT) Yeah (STAND UP) Yeah (COME OUT) Yeah (STAND UP) Yeah (COME OUT) THAT'S RIGHT WE WANT YOU TO STAND UP NOW Well okay, we'll hear you out But first we'll tie you down and show you just what pain's about We'll give water to the children, we'll all drink wine Just shut your mouth and listen, it will be just fine __________________________ These lyrics are INTENSE. Gosh I don't even know where to begin. It probably has a different meaning than this, but when I read it I see nothing but religious allegories. Jesus being hunted down, being tied down and tortured and nailed to the cross. Also, "fans of the plan" referring to what's regarded as "Satan's plan" which was that we wouldn't have to choose between right and wrong, we'd come here and all live righteously and go back to heaven. Then he and his followers were cast out. From then on they could speak only evil. Guess that's what you get for going swimming in the lake of fire. And "the ugly ones will steal your face" could be referring to both depictions of the devil as twisted ugly and monstrous (when Lucifer was not regarded as monstrous or ugly at all) and to the Antichrist, who is evil but will make everyone believe he is actually Jesus. And of course, all of this can be related to anyone else however they choose to relate it, but... wow. Powerful. |

| Idiot Pilot – Nightlife Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Some corrections... at least, this is how it sounds to me, and the people at idiotfan.com agree with me :P And to the dance she ran Red flowers in her hand She'd heard that they were caught in the web Caught in the thick of it We know there's spiders down there (SO COME ON DOWN) And when it's night time they come up for air We know you're hiding somewhere (SO COME ON OUT) But now it's night time, there's nothing to fear We'll turn down the lights in the hall to get you out The disco ball is spinning around We'll dance to the bass when it comes in loud This is the place to be, you should be proud __________________ Very interesting correlations there. At first glance, it's about a huge nighttime party, some kind of rave or something, maybe just a high school dance or something of the sort, but what's with all the spiders? The spiders could represent just about anything. Something evil, that comes out at night to prey on unsuspecting girls who run right into their webs. Or just good dancers who seem to have a million limbs cause they move so fast. The red flowers symbolize passion, romance, love. You know what I think? It's about giving up your virginity on prom night. And when you think of it that way, the song seems so much more powerful. |

| Idiot Pilot – The Violent Tango Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
More "corrections" ... Love Does No one Much Kiss Kill Frozen still I GET STUCK I get stuck (I GET STUCK) Dancing the dance of moth Smiling politely As we push through glass Hey You Over There Come Sit Tell me What Is it? I GET STUCK I get stuck (I GET STUCK) Dancing the dance of the moth (THE DANCE OF THE MOTH) Smiling politely As we push through glass Yeah. I get stuck. Oh yeah. Dancing the dance of the moth. Smiling politely As we punch through glass ________________ What is the dance of moth? You've all heard the saying of the moth and the flame. The dance of the moth is the deadly violent tango the moth does with the flame - drawing close enough to touch, then fluttering away, wounded, because of the heat. It does this over and over again until it's dead. Very like to trying to push or punch through glass. You may get through to whatever's behind it, but in your violent tango your hand gets shredded to pieces. Whatever's on the other side of the glass may be important, but it generally loses its importance once you're wounded, just as the flame loses its beauty once the moth is burned. These are also analogies for relationships with people. The message is clear - don't continue trying to force something when all you get is hurt by it. But like the songwriter, we get stuck in the same violent tango over and over again, smiling our way through all the pain even as we ignore the thought that maybe we should stop. |

(we're trying to help you) my eardrums pound. im trying so hard to not shoot. the glorious sound. no one move around. you would feel the same way. |

| Idiot Pilot – Losing Color Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Also, I just checked idiotfan.com, their lyrics seem most accurate: I'm losing the color, and you were my canvas. Gone. Get.(x2) When the pen hits the paper(x6) I'm losing the color and you were the canvas. Gone are the days when we laughed. |

| Idiot Pilot – Open Register Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Again I must offer some suggestions for lyrics that make a little bit more sense. Blew your sole move too soon Do yourself, I don't have to Do you suffer? I don't want to Do you? I don't think so, so please just act slow This'll all be over before You know... you know WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! My eardrums pound I'm trying so hard To not shoot A glorious sound No other around Blew your sole move too soon Do yourself or I might have to Do you suffer? I don't want to Do you? I don't think so, so please just act slow This'll all be over before You know... you know WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! My eardrums pound I'm trying hard to Not shoot A glorious sound No other around You Would Too The same way You Would Feel The same way WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! My eardrums pound I'm trying hard to Not shoot A glorious sound No other around WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! My eardrums pound WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! I'm trying hard to WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! Not shoot A glorious sound WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU! No other around ____________________________ Hearing the lyrics this way, one can imagine a robbery-turned-hostage-situation (robbery = open register) with the police outside telling him he blew it, he put himself there, and if he takes responsibility they won't have to hurt him. They're yelling "We're trying to HELP you!" and the gunman is trying hard not to shoot, and at one point yells "You would do the same, you would feel the same, if you were in my position!" But of course this imagery is used as an analogy for something else... The song is about feeling trapped. About rushing in without seeing the consequences and then being forced to either hurt others or surrender to the mess you created for yourself. Trying to find a way out. But all you can hear is the pounding in your own ears, the rush of emotion enhancing the sound, drowning out all others. |

| Idiot Pilot – Losing Color Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
In case anyone wants to know, what they're saying at the beginning goes like this. Daniel: "Can I - okay..." Michael: "I'm not encouraging this." Daniel: "How about this, Mike... how about I ask you some sort of question that I can then put on the computer, and make into an intro for the song?" Michael: "Okay." Daniel: "And then - and - but, the funny thing is the question's about the intro." Michael: "Okay, let's hear it." Daniel: "...That's it, that's the question. And then I start now." Also, I believe the lyrics are more along these lines: I'm losing the color And you will not care it's Gone (Caring)Gone I'm losing the color And you will not care it's Gone Gone The last of me will Last of me will Last of me will Last of me will Last of me at Last will fade away I'm losing the color And you will not care it's Gone I'm losing Will you run? |

| Idiot Pilot – A Day in the Life of a Poolshark Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Since Idiot Pilot refuses to post any lyrics whatsoever, it's all up to fan interpretation and listening to figure them out. However I'd like to offer a couple "corrections" to the lyrics posted here... the chorus (including background screaming) makes more sense like this: "Don't know how long the fallout will last But we'll find the higher ground (Love, and hate, it's all the same.)" And the last line, which is screamed twice in the song, is the title of the song, but the first time it hesitates more often between words. The first time it's screamed it's "A ... DAY ... IN ... THE... LIFE OF A POOLSHARK!" and the second time it's "A ... DAY... IN THE LIFE OF A POOLSHARK!" As for the meaning of the song, it's fairly straightforward, and makes even more sense if you've seen the video of them beating the crap out of each other. Obviously it can refer to many different things, but my take is this: First of all, a "pool shark" is someone who is extremely skilled at pool and may employ deceptive means to hide his skill in advance of games, in order to make money playing (e.g. hustling) ... it's two separate words, though, not one, as it is in the title of this song. Now, no one makes more alterations to their image than those in the music and movie industries, and this song is clearly about the superficiality of artists and celebrities, yes, but the video shows another side of it - the self-loathing that I'm sure even this relatively unknown band experiences. The band consists of just those two men (Michael Harris and Daniel Anderson) and in the video they begin arguing with each other, then fighting, and beating each other senseless - JUST BEFORE going onstage. That's the conflict within themselves that they have every time they go on to perform in front of hundreds of people who are every bit as superficial as those they detest, and the band feels the struggle within them to not become one of those people as well. But sometimes, they feel they're deceiving themselves, deceiving others, and being deceived, despite their best efforts of integrity. They feel like a pool shark. They know they're exceptionally skilled, and they know if they let it go to their heads, they'll end up using their skill to sucker and cheat people into giving them their money. But they turn right around and state that they know things will happen and their image will be tainted ("Don't know how long the fallout will last") but they'll "find the higher ground" and rise above it, they'll be themselves whether loved or hated ("Love, and hate, it's all the same"). Also, the fact that it's spelled as one word, "poolshark," indicates they feel more closely related to that particular "profession" than an average observer or even the pool sharks themselves. Either that, or they just misspelled it. Haha. |
